It is the left that is trying to force something to happen by law that is still not technically feasible. It would be like the government in 1890 raising the price of hay and telling everyone they need to switch to internal combustion machines by 1900 after which you won't be able to buy horses.

Slightly off topic ...

I think a much greater effect on the environment than pushing electric cars (that need batteries and need to be charged, so they are still a drain on the environment) is having people who can work from home, do work from home. So much needless driving. My wife now works from home 4 days a week. She only goes in one day to take care of paperwork and face-to-face business. Round trip, she drives 26 miles, so that 104 miles of automobile exhaust no longer being pumped out. Add 30 or so coworkers (some of which drive much further) it's probably about 3K less miles per week.

So much of this Al Gore greenie nonsense is about profiting from emerging green businesses and not about saving the environment with common-sense alternatives.

Yup. I live pretty close to work, about a 15 mile round trip. But I was filling up at least once every two weeks, sometimes more. But I have been working from home since Covid, and now I am only filling up about 4 times a YEAR. That's a lot of saving of gas, pollution, and wear and tear on my car.
