After Biden sleepwalked his way through 1.5 years of presidency, somehow a whole lot of wins for him have occurred in the last week or two, and a whole lot of losses for Trump. There's so many of each I thought a summary thread to aggregate them all is worth is.
Positives for Biden / the Dems:
Negatives for Trump:
Positives for Biden / the Dems:
- Al Qaeda leader killed.
- Chips Act to help US manufacturing signed.
- Inflation Reduction Act negotiated, containing a lot of climate-change stuff.
- 500k jobs added in July.
- Inflation was zero in July, on the back of continuously falling oil prices.
Negatives for Trump:
- FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago, reportedly searching for classified documents he inappropriately had. The FBI director and the judge who signed off on the warrant were both Trump appointees.
- Trump testified in court and pled the 5th over 400 times in an ongoing investigation into insurance, bank and tax fraud by him, which his personal attorney Michael Cohen has publicly said he is guilty of. Trump has previously said only the mob and guilty people plead the 5th.
- A judge ordered Trump's tax returns be turned over to the Democrats in congress investigating them.
- The investigation into the fake-electors scheme in Georgia seems to closing in.
- Pictures were released of documents ripped up and flushed down the toilet by Trump, confirming claims by multiple White House aides that Trump would regularly try to dispose of documents in this fashion in breach of legal requirements of presidential document preservation.
