I've given up on trying to make sense of that kind of diagramming.

It's really only helpful when isolating modifying phrases that mess up the singular/plural verb agreement.

I tolerated the diagramming sentences because I was good at it, and had a crush on my English teacher.

I thought her smoker voice was fascinating.

Kids can be mean, no doubt. And forcing multitudes of them into tight quarters just makes matters worse.

I was only briefly bullied in junior high by one kid (it actually worked in my favor as it toughened me up) but I witnessed some relentless and severe bullying to others that infuriated me. I can only hope those kids persevered in life despite those early traumas. And I worried about my daughter constantly when she was in school. I wouldn't allow it today.

What about moms who adopt children? "Adoptive Birthing Parent" doesn't make sense since they didn't birth the child.

Another case of "inclusion" excluding people.

Hadn't you heard? Adoptive parents are now evil.

At least according to Mark Hamill who during a pro-abortion rant where he likened couples willing to adopt babies to the mentally deranged DC supervillains Joker and Harley Quinn.

Wow. It went from "If you really cared about these babies after they are born you would take care of them their whole lives" to "adopting them is evil" pretty fast.

Hamill can be a bit ... psychotic at times. He's well known for his edgy sense of humor and some times I think he just tries too hard. This MAY have been one of those times

That burnt bird brony, Apologiaphoenix, has a column regarding it: Mark Hamill is a Slimeball.

Warehouse schooling has all the social charm of a chicken coop. Let's have kids learn their social skills from equally incapable kids and wonder why they look like maniacs when they come out.

Suicidal at age 8. Didn't learn how to make friends until ninth grade. I MIGHT be a tad biased.

I had friends earlier than that, but I was also bullied before even going to school, even by relatives. I had cognitive dissonance regarding the issue for a long time. I was thinking being treated badly nearly everywhere you go was normal, but then I saw most other kids at school not receiving the same kind of treatment. Once I realized it wasn't normal for a person to be targeted like that I started to think there was something horribly wrong with me. So I tried everything I could think of to be seen as "normal". That didn't work, and don't think it could have. When you haven't lived a normal life, and you have Autism Spectrum Disorder* on top of that you can only base your attempts at being "normal" on superficial/limited information. Anyone who knows a lot of sci-fi and fantasy knows how quickly an illusion based on such information crumbles.

Nobody saw the signs I was autistic as a kid. No doctors, no teachers, and definitely not my parents*. Other people very quickly picked up that I was different, and that made me a target. even if they didn't know why either.

*I don't blame my parents for not knowing. The information was not widespread back then, especially since I didn't show any delays in language, and I was only mildly clumsy. I am surprised no teachers or doctors noticed. I was practically a textbook example of Asperger's Syndrome as it was called back then.
