                          Yes, that would be, in your parlance, evidently, "reversing lights".

                          Reminds me of the warning on an MGB I had many years ago ---- "remember to actuate trafficators when altering lane travel".

                              Trafficators is pretty much obsolete here these days. Mostly they're called indicators.

                              My brother in law hooked up a trailer once and asked me to check if the indicators were working.

                              Me: Yes, no, yes, no ... at least my sister thought it was funny.

                                Yeah, this was, if I remember correctly, a 1963 MGB. I was also amused by the trunk being referred to as "the boot".
