Interesting, a Black shooter shot up a Korean hairstylist business, wounding 3, and a federal hate crime investigation has been opened up. Anyone think it will get anything close to the amount of coverage of this Buffalo shooting?

          https://abcnews.go.com/US/suspect-ar...ry?id=84776375

Suspect arrested in Dallas salon shooting as FBI opens hate crime investigation

The incident may be connected to shootings at Asian-run businesses, police said.

Dallas police arrested a suspect in connection with the May 11 shooting of three women in a hair salon in the city's Koreatown. The incident is being investigated as a hate crime and could be linked to a series of recent shootings at Asian-run businesses in the city, police said.

The salon owner, an employee and a customer are all Korean, according to ABC affiliate station WFAA in Dallas. The women suffered nonfatal injuries and were transported to a local hospital, according to police.

Police said Tuesday morning that a suspect, who was not named, was in custody and that further information on the arrest will be provided by Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia later in the day.

The FBI is investigating the incident as a hate crime.

“The Dallas FBI Field Office, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District in Texas, and the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice have opened a federal hate crime investigation into the incident at Hair World Salon in Dallas,” a spokesperson for the FBI field office in Dallas told ABC News in a statement on Monday. “We are in close communication with Dallas Police and are partnering together to thoroughly investigate this incident. As this is an ongoing investigation, we are not able to comment further at this time.”

Police met with members of the community at a town hall in Koreatown on Monday amid concerns for the public's safety.

Two of the shooting victims – the owner and an employee – were present at the meeting, according to WFAA. The employee spoke with the help of an interpreter and her was face covered. The women did not reveal their names.

Garcia said at a press conference on Friday that law enforcement “concluded three recent shootings of Asian run businesses may be connected” and the suspect in each incident was driving a similar vehicle.
Police said they learned from a witness report that an unknown Black male parked what appeared to be "a dark color minivan-type vehicle" on Royal Lane and then walked across the parking lot and into the establishment, allegedly opening fire as soon as he entered the salon.

Police also released a security image of a maroon minivan they said the gunmen fled the scene in.

Garcia said the shooting at the salon may be linked to one that happened a day before and one that took place last month.

Police learned from witness reports that on April 2 a driver in a red minivan drove past a strip mall of Asian-run businesses and fired shots at three businesses. No one was injured.

On Tuesday a suspect in a burgundy van or car drove by and shot into Asian-run businesses near 4849 Sunnyvale Street, police said.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we have reached out to our partners to make them aware of the possible connection and ask for their assistance,” Garcia said. “This includes the FBI and member agencies of the Joint Terrorism Task Force. We are also working with North Texas police partners to determine if this criminal action has or is taking place in their jurisdictions.”

Garcia said police will be increasing the presence of high visibility patrol officers in areas in the city where there are large Asian American populations.

“We are turning to every resident of the city of Dallas to keep an eye out and safeguard our city,” Garcia said. “Hate has no place here.”

These incidents in Dallas come amid a spate of attacks targeting Asian Americans across the nation, which spiked during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Biden in 2015 espouses replacement theory...

An unrelenting stream of immigration, nonstop, nonstop. Folks like me who were Caucasian, of European descent for the first time in 2017 will be in an absolute minority in the United States of America, absolute minority. Fewer than 50 percent of the people in America from then and on will be White European stock.
Biden now says replacement theory is a false belief.

"Replacement theory" doesn't refer to factual statement about current demographic change. It has quite a bit more to it than that. Someone making comments about demographic change isn't necessarily espousing replacement theory.

WaPo gave Tucker Carlson their maximum falsehood rating for quoting Biden out of context saying what you quoted, and implying it was Biden endorsing replacement theory. The comment was part of quite a long spiel by Biden about how the US had always had high immigration, ever since the late 1700s, and that this was something that had consistently made it a great country through its history, both when the high immigration was coming from white European nations and likewise when it was coming from other countries. He was as positive toward high immigration from white European countries early in US history as he was towards high immigration from non-white non-European countries in recent times, so it was clear he was endorsing immigration in general, not any specific racial profile.

Sure, the theory morphed into various conspiracy theories among certain groups about who was doing it and why, but the foundation of the theory was just as Biden described it in that quote. He added that it was a good thing at the end because he had to, but like I said, you could hear the concern in his voice, and we know for a fact he's a racist and has a racist history. And we also know this in how he's expelling black immigrants even to the chagrin of his own party. It's apparent there's conflict in his admin, likely with certain Dems at odds with these actions, which would explain why his border policy is completely incoherent and chaotic.

Replacement Theory is something that both sides have been discussing for years now. In fact, it has been recommended by the U.N. as a possible "solution to declining and aging populations."

What gave it a sinister twist was when some started claiming that some shadowy group, usually the Jews, were the ones pushing it and actually bankrolling it.

But that has never been what Republicans were saying. Instead, they are saying that it has been Democrat Party policy in order to replace the voters they have been losing from the working class. IOW, America’s shifting demographics are the intended outcome of the Democratic Party’s immigration policies.

And where have they gotten such a view? Why from the left itself.

For instance, in 2018 a memo co-authored by former Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri surfaced declaring that the Democrats needs to protect illegal immigrants brought here by DACA in order to ensure those additional votes because it is a "critical component of the Democratic Party’s future electoral success."

The memo, put out by the Center for American Progress (CAP) Action Fund declared:

If Democrats don’t try to do everything in their power to defend Dreamers, that will jeopardize Democrats’ electoral chances in 2018 and beyond.

And let us not overlook how just this past summer, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) had no problem embracing Replacement Theory proclaiming

"The demographics of America are not on the side of the Republican Party. The new voters in this country are moving away from them, away from Donald Trump, away from their party creed that they preach."
                      .

Even old Joe declared back in 2015 (back when he still didn't have trouble confusing his wife for his sister and vice versa) that, starting in 2017 "fewer than 50% of the people in America . . . will be white European stock." During his Zoom conference call made with black leaders soon after being sworn in, he reiterated it, although he said it was dooming America.

The Atlantic, which has become the voice of "mainstream liberal" Democrats since Steve Jobs widow bought it, did a story a couple years ago about how many on their fellow travelers have been saying for years that demographic change would deliver a permanent electoral majority to Democrats

In 2002, the political scientist Ruy Teixeira and the journalist John Judis published a book, The Emerging Democratic Majority, which argued that demographic changes—the browning of America, along with the movement of more women, professionals, and young people into the Democratic fold—would soon usher in a “new progressive era” that would relegate Republicans to permanent minority political status. The book argued, somewhat triumphally, that the new emerging majority was inexorable and inevitable. After Barack Obama’s reelection, in 2012, Teixeira doubled down on the argument in The Atlantic, writing, “The Democratic majority could be here to stay.”

I'll note that the elections in 2014 and 2016 cooled Teixeira giddiness considerably.

Similarly, in 2016 civil rights attorney Steve Phillips made the same argument in his best-seller Brown Is the New White.

So, given that Democrats expect the growing nonwhite population of America to support them, how can anyone argue that their virtually open borders immigration policies aren't designed to secure an electoral majority? That this is indeed the case was made clear during the Democratic primary debate held in October of 2019, where every single Democrat running -- including the duffer -- promised to "provide [free] coverage for undocumented immigrants."

Of course the delicious irony has been that as the Democrats run full speed into Socialism crippling the economy, are soft on crime and continue to try to cram divisive social views down everyone's throat while stifling all dissent, is causing more and more blacks, Asians and especially Hispanics to start voting GOP lever in droves as Democrats tilt ever-more left on crime, the economy and divisive social issues

I'm always still in trouble again

Rogue, every part of your post is absurdly wrong.

Let's see how far through it I can get in debunking it before I get bored.

Originally posted by rogue06 View Post

To repeat what I said earlier, discussing demographics isn't "Replacement Theory", Replacement Theory goes quite a bit further than that. Your response seems to be that even though you know this is true (as your next comment shows) you disingenuously reassert the false claim that discussing demographics is Replacement Theory.

What gave it a sinister twist was when some started claiming that some shadowy group, usually the Jews, were the ones pushing it and actually bankrolling it.
Ding, ding. Finally something correct. The whole popularization of Replacement Theory, and the reason that it has made its way into popular discussions, was a result of those who asserted that Jews were pushing for the destruction of whites.

But that has never been what Republicans were saying.
Remember the right-wing rally at Charlottesville where they chanted "Jews will not replace us!"?

Instead, they are saying that it has been Democrat Party policy in order to replace the voters they have been losing from the working class. IOW, America’s shifting demographics are the intended outcome of the Democratic Party’s immigration policies.
Indeed, hence it is a falsehood.

Everyone knows that new-immigrant voters from Latin American countries tend to vote Democratic in the first few years after achieving citizenship. Though, equally, everyone knows that immigrants from those countries tend to lean religious and conservative. So it's not as if this voting bloc is any kind of long-term-guaranteed strong support for Democrats over Republicans.

But your claim above goes much further than any demographic observations or observations about voting trends, and asserts that the Democratic party is specifically designing their immigration policies for the purpose of creating large numbers of new citizens likely to vote Democratic.

Such a conspiratorial claim stands over and against the more obvious default view:
Namely that people in the Democratic party are inclined to be kinder towards immigrants and non-white people than people in the Republican party, so tend towards having less harsh immigration policies.

I would say the evidence shows that that view is very true. Whether it be surveys of the beliefs of the voters in each party, or looking at what races of people tend to get elected in each party, or looking at hate crimes, etc, the evidence clearly shows that the Democratic party as a whole is inclined to be nice and kinder towards immigrants and non-white people than the Republican party, and tends to favor less-harsh immigration policies. Even where Democratic supporters want minimal immigration, they still tend to highly value the illegal immigrants being treated with kindness, respect, and human rights, even if they want the outcome to be that those people are deported.

So the simple fact is that you don't need a conspiracy theory to explain why Democrats take the stance they do on this issue. They take the stance they do because they are kind and nice, period.

But now, let's consider the proposed conspiracy theory, that they take the positions they do because they want to change the voter demographics in the country. There are a variety of problems with that:

                          1. Latin Americans lean conservative and religious. Long term they are likely to transition to the Republican party. If Democrats wanted more reliable voters, they would be far better to import Europeans. As many Americans point out, Europe is "socialist" compared to the US. On the whole, Europe leans left-wing, progressive, and atheistic compared to the US. The main right-wing party in the UK passed marriage equality before Hillary Clinton came out in support of it, and the UK has had government-funded healthcare for all for 70+ years now, so even people from the UK that would have voted 'right-wing' in the UK would likely find their best-matching party in the US to be the Democratic party. So Dems would do a lot better importing Europeans than Latin Americans if their goal was a reliable Dem voter base. So if their secret goal is to use immigration policy to help firm their voter base, they're going about it very strangely.

                          2. Illegal immigrants can't vote. You need to be a US citizen to vote. There is, infamously, no "path to citizenship" for illegal immigrants currently. So not only can these illegal immigrants not vote currently, it seems likely that at no point in their lives will they ever be able to vote in the US. So no amount of illegal immigrants crossing the border is going to do anything to help Democrats win, ever. The last person to give mass amnesty to illegal immigrants was... Ronald Reagan... not a Democrat. And despite Democrats discussing that they quite like the idea of a policy of a path to citizenship, that is not a policy they have ever actually implemented even when they've had the opportunity. Obama infamously declared it "not a priority" when he had a supermajority. If Dems truly wanted new voters from the Latin American immigrant population, surely they would prioritize policies to help enable these people to eventually vote?

                          3. Legal immigrants take significant time to achieve citizenship. The process is slow and takes years - 5 years of continuous living in the US before applications can begin to be made, with more like 10 years being a likely timeframe. Anyone currently in Dem leadership (Biden, Pelosi, etc) will almost certainly be out of politics in 10 years time. So they have absolutely nothing to personally gain from letting any immigrants into the country at present.

                          4. Democrats do not currently have loose immigration policies. They do not have policies that would support mass immigration. Biden continued Trump's Title 42 mass deportation policy, and deported people at more than twice the rate as Trump did. Kamala Harris has been saying "Do not come" to potential migrants in speeches. As much as lunatics on the right rave about Dems being supporters of mass immigration, the policies simply don't bear that out. Dems have tended to often be as tight or tighter on border security as Republicans. They often want the border guards to be nicer about kicking the people out, but they still tend to want the people kicked out.

So, on the whole, the conspiracy theory that Dems have chosen a mass immigration policy to replace the voters shows itself to be utter delusional nonsense. No part of the theory works. Dems don't have very loose immigration policies, illegal immigrants can't vote and can't obtain citizenship to vote, legal immigrants take so much time before they can vote that they're useless to current politicians, and the immigrants from Latin America don't naturally lean Democratic so wouldn't be a good choice for the Dems if they were considering such an idea.

So it's a situation where the obvious view - that Dem voters just tend to want to be nice to immigrants - explains the observed facts, but where the conspiracy theory, that Dems have chosen their immigration policies to replace US voters, is idiotic and wrong at every single point.

"The demographics of America are not on the side of the Republican Party. The new voters in this country are moving away from them, away from Donald Trump, away from their party creed that they preach."
                          .
Did you know 7/8 new voters in the country are young people becoming old enough to vote for the first time? Young people skew liberal and democratic. If Dems really wanted to do themselves a favor and replace voters, they should lower the voting age. That's something almost none of them ever mention. Why? Because they are simply not interested in the idea of helping themselves through proactively changing the voter demographic.

The Atlantic, which has become the voice of "mainstream liberal" Democrats since Steve Jobs widow bought it, did a story a couple years ago about how many on their fellow travelers have been saying for years that demographic change would deliver a permanent electoral majority to Democrats
People on all sides, for years, have been noting the gradual demographic changes in the US, and presuming that this would help the Dems over the Republicans. Whether it is actually true that it does, is quite another matter. But again, noting demographic changes is quite quite different from deliberately causing them.

I think there is quite a lot of projection going on here coming from Republicans on this topic. All across the country, Republican states have implemented a huge variety of measures to restrict black and latino voting because they perceive those racial groups to be less likely to vote Republican. The projection is that, because that's something they do, they assume that Democrats must also be doing the same thing but opposite. But, they reality is, they just aren't. Dems typically believe strongly in voting rights and so are pro everyone voting. But the idea of them deliberately importing more people of a certain race to tilt the playing field is quite a different ball-park.

Well, that guy is an utter moron and liar, because the Dems simply don't have "virtually open borders immigration politics". That's about as serious as me claiming all Republican want to mars.

And for the numerous reasons I explained above, that conspiracy theory simply doesn't work. The motive doesn't make sense, the means don't make sense, and the policies that conspiracy theory alleges the Dems should have don't match what they actually do.

Your level of stupidity in this paragraph is painful to behold. How do you manage to be wrong on everything so consistently? Must be a real talent.

Let's see how far through it I can get in debunking it before I get bored.

Ding, ding. Finally something correct. The whole popularization of Replacement Theory, and the reason that it has made its way into popular discussions, was a result of those who asserted that Jews were pushing for the destruction of whites.

Remember the right-wing rally at Charlottesville where they chanted "Jews will not replace us!"?

Well, that guy is an utter moron and liar, because the Dems simply don't have "virtually open borders immigration politics". That's about as serious as me claiming all Republican want to mars.

The ironic twists to Democrat claims that the GOP backs ‘replacement theory’
In yet another bid to pin a horrific mass shooting on the opposition, Democrats and their media allies now claim “replacement theory” is a core value of the modern GOP.
Replacement theory, which inspired Buffalo shooter Peyton Gendron, imagines a sinister cabal of Jewish financiers and leftist politicians is undermining America’s white majority to win elections for Democrats and transform the country.

No less than The New York Times sounded the alarm: Its straw-grasping article, for example, falsely smeared New York’s Rep. Elise Stefanik because of her criticism of Biden’s immigration policies. Then it had to reach to Arizona Republican state Sen. Wendy Rogers — a fringe figure censured in March by other Republicans for her bizarre statements.

The real bête noire here is Tucker Carlson, who the Times and others insist amplifies these ideas on his Fox show. Funny: The shooter’s manifesto fingers Fox as a tentacle of that same anti-white conspiracy.
And the larger claim that US demographic change boosts Democrats has been standard among Democrats for years. Left-liberal analysts John Judis and Ruy Teixeira made the case in their influential 2002 book “The Emerging Democratic Majority.” Civil rights attorney Steve Phillips argued similarly in his 2016 best-seller “Brown Is the New White.” Sen. Dick Durbin felt comfortable saying just last summer, “The demographics of America are not on the side of the Republican Party.”

Heck, Joe Biden in 2015 stated that, starting in 2017, “fewer than 50% of the people in America . . . will be white European stock” and adding, “that’s a source of our strength.”

The kicker: Of late, black, Asian and especially Hispanic voters have started pulling the GOP lever in droves as Democrats tilt ever-more left on crime, the economy and divisive social issues. Hard to explain that if the GOP is so wedded to stifling the political dreams of minorities.

This demographic shift has national Dems headed into an electoral wood-chipper in November. Hence the left’s desperate seizure on this hideous crime to try scaring voters back into the fold.

The article seems really confused. The writer doesn't seem very coherent.

It seems obvious that a lot of Republicans believe in the "Replacement Theory" conspiracy. Because they unambiguously say so. Plenty of right-wing posters on this forum have been endorsing the theory and arguing in favor of it. There are numerous segments in Tucker Carlson where he says Replacement Theory is true.

It seems gaslighting by the article writer to pretend that Republicans aren't saying the things they are obviously and publicly saying. It's like saying "QAnon? What QAnon? How dare anyone say QAnon has become quite popular among some Republicans, how absurd!"

And then the article does a sudden handbrake turn to itself spout the Replacement Theory claim: That the Democrats are out to deliberately change the demographics with its quotes that Rogue gave. It's a strange "we don't teach Replacement Theory, here let me teach you some Replacement Theory and endorse its claims and here are the proof-texts we use for it."

And then they finish with the point I made that Latino voters aren't a reliable Dem voter bloc so the underlying logic in the Replacement Theory conspiracy makes no sense. Thus they debunk the theory they'd just finished espousing.

A very confused article. Reason number 24,621 not to take the NY Post seriously.
