  • More Evidence that Democrats Are Totalitarian

    – Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Democratic voters would favor a government policy requiring that citizens remain confined to their homes at all times, except for emergencies, if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine. Such a proposal is opposed by 61% of all likely voters, including 79% of Republicans and 71% of unaffiliated voters.

    – Nearly half (48%) of Democratic voters think federal and state governments should be able to fine or imprison individuals who publicly question the efficacy of the existing COVID-19 vaccines on social media, television, radio, or in online or digital publications. Only 27% of all voters – including just 14% of Republicans and 18% of unaffiliated voters – favor criminal punishment of vaccine critics.

    – Forty-five percent (45%) of Democrats would favor governments requiring citizens to temporarily live in designated facilities or locations if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine. Such a policy would be opposed by a strong majority (71%) of all voters, with 78% of Republicans and 64% of unaffiliated voters saying they would Strongly Oppose putting the unvaccinated in “designated facilities.”

Absolute insanity. But in a way it helps me understand better firsthand exactly how the Nazis rose to power and then took over, and there was little issue from the populace when the "undesirables" were rounded up (many even helping). It's disturbing what just two years of fear porn and propaganda can do to such a large part of the populace

I think this finding goes very well hand in hand with some previous studies that show Republicans are far more likely to understand the real stats of the pandemic whilst Democrats tend to believe it is many times worse than it is, in some cases being off by a factor of 10 or more.

      It is scary stuff!

Twenty-nine percent (29%) of Democratic voters would support temporarily removing parents’ custody of their children if parents refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine. That’s much more than twice the level of support in the rest of the electorate – seven percent (7%) of Republicans and 11% of unaffiliated voters – for such a policy.

I suspect there are even members of this forum (including some who identify as Christian) who would be happy to see those of us who are unvaccinated be rounded up and placed in concentration camps.

        We live in interesting times.

Right, if these leftists were fully in charge I have no doubt that we would look like Australia...

Yeah, Australia and Canada should be a big wakeup call to anyone who still cares about freedom here in the US . They're going down a very dangerous path right now.

It's not going to be a wake up call, though, because those who are in favor of these authoritarian measures never think the government's boot is going to be on their necks.

The Nazi's rose to power because conservative politicians wanted to ride on Hitler's popularity by giving him power and thinking they could control him afterwards ... pretty much like the GOP and Trump today.

An October (pre-omicron) poll suggested that 46% of Americans wanted masking to continue permanently even after the pandemic: https://www.digitalcenter.org/covid-...t-q3-findings/

To be fair, the wording of the question doesn't necessarily imply legal force. It might include people like my mother who say that she is likely to continue to personally wear masks to the store during flu season in the future. But still, the Overton window is rapidly shifting.

In fact, the idea of exterminating the "undesirables" from society in Germany came from the scientific Darwinists of the 19th-20th century that propagated eugenics ideology across the western hemisphere. So it's only fitting that the leftists would use science to justify such actions against the "undesirables" of today.
