I don't know if it has been mentioned here already, but even small scale "communism" doesn't work very well. And this test was attempted by Christians long before Karl Marx was born.

      https://www.pbs.org/newshour/economy...d-thanksgiving

"For the yong-men that were most able and fitte for labour and servise did repine that they should spend their time and streingth to worke for other mens wives and children, with out any recompence."

Now, your OP mentions "socialism, " which is a less-harsh degree of communism. But the idea of redistributing wealth means to give government power to take that which belongs to you. That's never a good precedent.

Strangely, people who don't have a lot of money often have an exaggerated sense of its value. It's why people who come into sudden wealth often find themselves bankrupt after a short time. Give a low income individual a million dollars, and they'll think they're set for life and start spending like it's an infinite amount.

They tend to forget about taxes too.

Denmark may be a good example of a successful socialist-run country? (Not sure of the exact correct terminology in this sentence).

Danish PM in US: Denmark is not socialist

After seeing his country held up as an example in the US presidential debate, Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen used an address at Harvard to explain the Nordic model to a US audience suddenly very interested in Denmark.

Speaking at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, Danish PM Lars Løkke Rasmussen told students that he had “absolutely no wish to interfere the presidential debate in the US” but nonetheless attempted to set the record straight about his country.

“I know that some people in the US associate the Nordic model with some sort of socialism. Therefore I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy,” Rasmussen said.

“The Nordic model is an expanded welfare state which provides a high level of security for its citizens, but it is also a successful market economy with much freedom to pursue your dreams and live your life as you wish,” he added.

The early Christians were Communistic. “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.” Acts 4:32 (KJV 1900)

I never sell anything but give it away. If people are my equals, I would be stealing from them if I sold anything.

How do you survive? When you buy a new car do you "give" the old one away? What about your home?

God supplies my needs abundantly. I normally give to Good Will. Jesus says sell what you have and give to the poor. So they help in this matter. Also, the Starvation Army is a good place to give and remain anonymous.

Do you own a car and/or home?

But you're selfishly driving a car you've already "gifted" to somebody else?
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Interesting that Jesus chose not to "remain anonymous" when He interacted with people on a daily basis.

You don't follow Jesus nor understand Him. Make fun all you want. I'm the one who is blessed here.

You mean when you die? That's different; that's not living under a communistic system.

If you are always giving things away that have moderate to high value, you will end up in the poorhouse. And then others will have to take care of you, using up resources that should be going to the true needy.

I posted above how the pilgrim Bradford colony tried a Christian "communism" and how it was a complete failure.
