So since we don't see similar results and outcomes in both, even though both are clearly the same race, your assertion does not seem to reflect reality.
The assertions don't meet with reality on a number of points. On the point that the African/American does have to work harder to be considered equal, though, there seems to be a reasonable validity. Then again, not wholly: many minority groups face the same problems.

Not really. Maybe that was true a few decades ago. But I cannot see evidence of that today. Indeed, in many of today's workplaces (especially colleges), the opposite is true: if you're white, you're seen as worth less than any minority.

Was reading something the other day about how plea bargains and court appointed public defenders have been the cause of a lot of likely innocent people serving a couple years behind bars.

I'm always still in trouble again

And we see that play out in TV shows and movies - that somebody will accept a plea for a short time of jail (6-36 months) rather than risk life if the evidence seems overwhelming, even though they insist they are innocent.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Prosecutors can be really nasty about it to. Let's say they catch a husband committing a crime, in order to get a confession and plea deal they are not above putting pressure on him by saying that if he doesn't play ball they'll charge the wife as a coconspirator/accessory (even if they know she wasn't involved) and threaten to have their children put into foster care (actually the kids would typically go to a relative but people are too scared at this point to think straight).

Yup, and that should be considered prosecutorial misconduct, but it's part of the legal game.
