As we have no idea what the original Galilean Jew may have looked like, perhaps no iconography should be permitted, including any portrayals in religious dramas.
That’s not the point. The point is that the university is representing someone who is not Christ as Christ, which is the height of blasphemy. Of course, the RCC is famous for its adoration of depictions of what they think the Lord looked like, all of which are wrong, and many of which are idolatrous. So you didn’t need to point it out.

I don’t want you in this thread with your derails and rabbit holes. You may leave now.

First of all, I actually amen'd your post.

Second of all --- one of my favorite related stories.

A child was busy sitting on the floor drawing something, and Mom took an interest.
Mom asked, "honey, what are you drawing?"
Child answered "a picture of Jesus".
Mom - Nobody knows what Jesus looked like.
Child - "They will when I'm done!"

I don't have any problem with any depictions of Jesus as a member of the local race - but there are limits to what can be considered appropriate.

A local church has a stained glass window depicting him as a woman, which I count disrespectful.

A black man who had been doing good works and wrongfully murdered for doing them depicted as Jesus - that wouldn't be a problem.

As I posted earlier this seems to be a depiction of Floyd as a sainted martyr being received by Jesus. I don't think they intend on portraying Floyd as Jesus. I also don't think Floyd was in any way a saint.
