Without watching the link, I agree the legislation would massively, massively, massively, benefit America. The provisions in it are hugely popular with voters, even with Republican voters.

The Republican Senators, being just plain evil, are unanimously refusing to support it, just for the sake of being obstructionist. They would prefer to destroy America than provide Biden with a single political win. If there's a hell, Republicans will burn in it.

Unfortunately the Democrats have the slimmest possible majority in the Senate because in many states the populace is too stupid to vote Democrat. This means that absolutely every single Senate democrat vote is need to pass the legislation. But unfortunately of the 50 Democratic senators, there's two who are corrupt. So those two are pocketing cash from the rich rather than voting for the bill.

The country wouldn't be in that situation of being held hostage by two corrupt senators if any of: (a) even two Republican senators weren't evil and agreed to vote for the bill, (b) Biden had a spine and actually was willing to play hardball with those two corrupt senators to force them to vote for his legislation, or (c) the American electoral system wasn't so stupid as to produce outcomes like this, where Democratic voters have a significant majority nationwide but the elected Senate is exactly 50-50, or (d) there were stronger anti-corruption laws that would prevent those two senators being so corrupt.

They made a deal to pass the one bill then turned around and demanded that the other much larger one must be passed first fouling everything up. Then they sent operatives in to accost a Democrat holdup out -- in the bathroom. An act which old Joe signaled his approval. Considering the duffer's propensities, I'm sure he honestly thought it was a good idea.

You are completely tone-deaf to what most Americans want, Starlight. It's just the opposite of what you are claiming. The BBB Plan is wildly unpopular with the American people. Republican voters hate it, and so do many democrats. Why do you think Biden's popularity keeps falling among democrats and independents?

Heck Biden hasn't even written the BBB yet. He is just running around promising the moon (and it won't cost you a dime!) without even having a bill written yet. This BBB plan is a joke. It is a last ditch effort by the liberal left to push through all of their crazy plans at once before the mid-terms get here. They have to get it done now because they won't be able to get another budget passed until after the mid-terms next year and by then it will be too late.

Try actually looking at some polling around the provisions that are in the BBB plan. I follow the polling rather than just assuming I know what people think. You should try it sometime.

Because you have been lied to about it and you gullibly believe the lies told to you by false right wing propaganda sources.

Why do you think Biden's popularity keeps falling among democrats and independents?
Because he's failing to pass it or do anything. His popularity was at record highs when he was doing big covid relief spending, and now it's dropped to record lows when he's done nothing and more nothing.

Not true. Bills have been passed by the House and Senate, and the process is now in 'reconciliation' because the two bills were different, so there's editing occurring to create a to-be-agreed-upon final version.

This BBB plan is a joke.
It's pretty much America's last hope to save itself as a nation from disaster. It's a joke that it's not passing with unanimous approval. For those that want to destroy the country, voting it down would serve their ends well.

It generally is important to pass a budget. It's also pretty important to be able to demonstrate you've done something before the midterms. Voters don't like it if you fail to follow through with your election promises and achieve nothing of what you've said you'd do.

When asked about individual components, the majority of Americans favor them. That is no surprise. It is also an old polling trick that many of us caught on to a long time back. You ask a very generic question like "would you like ABC?" Most everyone does. But when you ask if we want taxes to go up to pay for it... You get a very different response. After all, why do you think old Joe and other folks who slept through economics class, are so keen on convincing us that their $3.5 Trillion pork barrel spending spree will cost zero dollars?

Just saw something on CBNC where they mentioned how support for the $3.5 Trillion boondoggle loses support the more people learn about it.

Back when they were lying about how it would all be paid for by increasing taxes on corporations and those earning more than $400,000 a year, support was 57%

When they lied about it "only" costing between $1.5-2.2 Trillion, support dropped to 51%.

And when they lied[1] about it costing $3.5 Trillion, support fell down to only 41%.

              1. Even some liberal economists admit it'll cost at least another trillion.

Which shows you how clueless the average person is to not realize that corporations pass tax increases on to their customers which hits the middle class right in the wallet, and that people with a lot of money are traditionally exceptionally good at preventing the government from taking it (one of the benefits of wealth is the ability to quickly move it to where others can't touch it).

This was one area that Reagan got it 100% correct.
