You bought Trump’s lie that a healthy Wall Street means a healthy economy even as we are swimming in debt, which we have no intention of paying back.
The GOP has now written itself into a corner by reminding you of the fact that debt invalidates any claim of a “healthy economy.” They are right. It doesn’t. Our economic problems started long ago with unchecked capitalism and printing worthless currency out of thin air whenever we need to stop another crisis.
The only possible way to compete with China is to have an equal amount of manufacturing paying people slave wages, which you can imagine has a great impact on mental health. Then you need to have the geographic advantage of China’s
New Silk Road, which is in full swing.
It’s pretty pathetic you think that we can compete with that and even more so that you’d actually WANT to be that. Stop worshipping economic growth. The current generation suffering in this system are onto you boomers. COVID only magnified how terrible the system is.

Nuts. The GDP and economy was skyrocketing before COVID and even with it, Trump still managed to make it hold on. My 401K (mostly in the stock market) doubled under Trump and mostly in the last two years. As soon as Biden took over, it started tanking. Inflation started rising, jobs disappeared, he closed down oil pipelines, started talking about tax and spend liberal nonsense and now he is forcing employers to fire the few employees they have left because of his idiotic mandates. And that doesn't even take into effect the tens of thousands of illegals he let in that will be a burden on the local economies for years to come.

You realize that the economy was in shambles before the pandemic, right? According to the GOP, we are teens with the most maxed out credit card in the universe, meaning that the economy literally depends on non-existent money. Borrowing money doesn’t make us, all of the sudden, rich.
If I finance a Jaguar without the means and/or intent to pay it off, what’s that called? Just like the housing bubble of 2008, the dividends are illusion. There is no successful economy that depends on Wall Street black magic to function.
All COVID did was amplify this reality. Boomers were lucky to have been born in an economic boom where cars and homes were affordable and one family could subsist on one income.

Originally posted by Sparko View PostWe have supply chain problems already because of a worker shortage, now add in firing and laying off everyone who refuses to get the vaccine (which includes many who already have natural immunity from COVID) and watch the economy swirl down the toilet.

Those vax suspicions range from vaccines contain octopus-like creatures to vaccine is the mark of the beast. That you coddle these morons with understanding despite their paranoid beliefs also isn’t helping.

If the vaccines work then there is no real need for mandates as everyone who wants to be protected can be. They are getting ready to release the vaccine for ages 5 and up. If the vaccines don't work, then there is no need for a vaccine mandate because it won't help.

Unfortunately, our parents and grandparents have been deeply affected by disinformation peddled in conservative media as well as social media, hence their total confusion about whether to worship Trump or be suspicious of the “Trump” vaccine. It’s a textbook case of cognitive dissonance.
