You just justified massive paranoia. My sister is one of these paranoid types, and would persist in the belief vaccine is poison evil even WITHOUT the mandate. And you know those type of people exist, so your sympathy for that non-existent demographic that somehow would accept that vaccine is okay because at least it’s not being mandated borders on coddling idiots.

But mandating it won't make them take it either will it? So all that is happening is that thousands of people are being demonized and losing their jobs and making the economy even worse than it is. We have supply chain problems already because of a worker shortage, now add in firing and laying off everyone who refuses to get the vaccine (which includes many who already have natural immunity from COVID) and watch the economy swirl down the toilet.

There’s actually a Breitbart columnist who argued that Onion-worthy opinion:

LOL! Government is responding to an embedded suspicion that has led to a low vaccination rate. The machine of governance isn’t designed to think logically since it involves many actors of varying disturbing agendas, beliefs, and opinions. How on earth do you not know this?

You realize that the economy was in shambles before the pandemic, right? According to the GOP, we are teens with the most maxed out credit card in the universe, meaning that the economy literally depends on non-existent money. Borrowing money doesn’t make us, all of the sudden, rich.

If I finance a Jaguar without the means and/or intent to pay it off, what’s that called? Just like the housing bubble of 2008, the dividends are illusion. There is no successful economy that depends on Wall Street black magic to function.

All COVID did was amplify this reality. Boomers were lucky to have been born in an economic boom where cars and homes were affordable and one family could subsist on one income.

So you are saying the government lacks common sense? I can agree there!

Nuts. The GDP and economy was skyrocketing before COVID and even with it, Trump still managed to make it hold on. My 401K (mostly in the stock market) doubled under Trump and mostly in the last two years. As soon as Biden took over, it started tanking. Inflation started rising, jobs disappeared, he closed down oil pipelines, started talking about tax and spend liberal nonsense and now he is forcing employers to fire the few employees they have left because of his idiotic mandates. And that doesn't even take into effect the tens of thousands of illegals he let in that will be a burden on the local economies for years to come.

Spare me your fantasy that all was well under Trump. And I love that you think that your retirement plan is a sensible one when it’s dependent on the smoke and mirrors of a largely unregulated Wall Street. You bought Trump’s lie that a healthy Wall Street means a healthy economy even as we are swimming in debt, which we have no intention of paying back.

The GOP has now written itself into a corner by reminding you of the fact that debt invalidates any claim of a “healthy economy.” They are right. It doesn’t. Our economic problems started long ago with unchecked capitalism and printing worthless currency out of thin air whenever we need to stop another crisis.

The only possible way to compete with China is to have an equal amount of manufacturing paying people slave wages, which you can imagine has a great impact on mental health. Then you need to have the geographic advantage of China’s
New Silk Road, which is in full swing.

It’s pretty pathetic you think that we can compete with that and even more so that you’d actually WANT to be that. Stop worshipping economic growth. The current generation suffering in this system are onto you boomers. COVID only magnified how terrible the system is.

LOL tell that to Biden. And yeah I do measure how well I am doing by how well my investments are doing. It's my life and retirement after all. The stock market reflects how well businesses are doing, and businesses doing good means the economy is doing good. The economy IS business.

You sound like a bitter socialist. Maybe you should just move to China or some other socialist country so you can see how well socialism really works.

Maybe he could try Venezuela since Socialism has been such a resounding success there.
