Interesting concept. One person calls another by a derogatory name such as (is it still used) "honky" for example, the first could be hauled up for using an inappropriate pronoun.

We should do our best to minimize dissonance. It is reasonable to expect people to use the pronoun of the gender that someone presents themselves as. Someone presenting themselves to the world as a man? He/Him. A woman? She/Her. Inconsistent, back and forth, entirely mixed? They/Them.

What's not reasonable is to expect the population at large to change their basic speaking congnition process. Expecting that cognitive change is unrealistic and unreasonable. It is not reasonable to invent new pronouns and expect people to seamlessly use them. It's not reasonable to force cognitive dissonance when speaking about someone who's pronoun doesn't match what they put themselves forward as. It invites mistakes and offense. The same goes for the recently invented pronouns. It's not reasonable to expect the population to think or even use them. Nor is it reasonable to expect people to essentially keep a catalogue of people and what pronoun they want to use. We already recognize that remembering people's names is a skill not everyone has, and expecting that compounding that with extra details people need to remember is not reasonable.
Very well said. This would make an excellent defence in court even!

Thanks. I honestly think this is a basic common sense solution that minimizes strife. If a Transwoman wants to present themelves in dress, mannerisms, looks, etc. as a woman, I see no problem expecting people to refer to them as she/her. At the same time, it would be unreasonable for any person who presents themselves the same way to insist that people call them he/him.

Yes I saw your post as being under the heading, "In defence of common sense".

Now, if only those engaged in this have a clue of what basic common sense even is.

Why is it reasonable to lie, or be a party to a lie? Listen we had this sweet trans (female) here at work - Donna - she wanted to be known by a boy's name. Everyone, including me, accommodated her. But I would never agree that she was a man. Because she wasn't. We also had a trans (male) a few years before that demanded that we call him Jennifer - no one did...

Thinking, what if a drag queen for example identified as male during the day and dressed up as a women at night? He is a he when he is a he and a she when dressed up as a she? Eek what a mess.

The main thing for me is to note that these people confused about their sexual identity, including LGBTQ people are at bottom narcissists. It is all about them and their sexuality. They expect and march and demand that society as a whole bow down to their sexual affiliations and proclivities. Us normal heterosexual people basically just get on with life.

Honestly, not that big of a mess. You would expect that those two parts of their lives are separate. As such, those who know them during the day would be using he/him, those who know them at night would be using she/her, with no real confusion whatsoever. Those who know them during both would either be using they/them, or are friends, who would already likely be willing to abide by whatever the other person wanted.

                    they are insane...

ACLU redacts RBG quote on abortion to remove 'offensive' mention of women

The ACLU removed that term to appeal to the narrative of trans activists who claim that women are not the only people who can become pregnant.

Technically they aren't. Of course, it would mean transplanting a uterus into the body of a man, but I'm guessing that wouldn't be impossible (or maybe wouldn't remain impossible into the indefinite future.)

                          wordist!

If I can declare that I'm a woman in stark contrast to the biological absurdity of such a claim, I can certainly declare master is a pronoun

Anywho... I always thought it can also be a verb or adjective as well.

Language is fluid. If we can create ze/zir and declare them pronouns, we can just as easily declare "master" has a pronoun form.

It can indeed act as a verb and an adjective but those are not pronouns either.

Wow. You define yourself as 'normal', and yet accuse others of narcissism? Maybe remove the log from your own eye. Get over yourself, you've not the measuring stick for humanity. Other people are allowed to like things you don't happen to like, that's basic freedom.
