And that total included the UK and other nations flying their own people out, so, yeah... they don't want to give a number, because they don't want to have to admit how many Americans got left bejhind.

And Biden just stumbled through reading this speech with no emotion whatsoever, then scurried off the stage just as he was instructed by his handlers.

I wonder if the reason his "press conference" was delayed so many times was because they couldn't get him awake and in a cogent moment.

He absolutely needs to step aside.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

That might be a bad policy decision, but as far as I am aware it violates no laws.

But I think the best thing they could do is remove him due to incompetence under the 25th amendment.

Either way it also exposes his entire cabinet and the military leaders who went along with his nonsense to the same culpability. They should have known better, but didn't say anything. "Just doing my job" isn't an excuse.
Incompetence, on the other hand, can be used to invoke the 25th amendment. After all, the requirement is that the requisite people declare that the president is "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office." Now, obviously there's wide room to interpret those words, but sheer incompetence seems like it could qualify; and in any event, the people who decide what qualifies as "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office" are the people who invoke the 25th amendment anyway, so it means whatever they want it to. It's exactly why it's so hard to oust someone with it; because the definition can be arbitrary, you need overwhelming agreement that it applies to the current circumstances in order to invoke it.
