    Very worthwhile skills I agree.

I also don't address men from Mars coming and kidnapping them to Pluto.

Nuclear power is not actually the topic of this thread. However, and despite Lovelock's comments, I do not see nuclear power as we now have it providing any long term solutions.
I'm not the least bit surprised at your ignorance in this arena.

We need to learn to not squander and waste energy, make adequate use of our resources, and control our population.
You need to step out of fantasy land and come to reality.

Nuclear power is probably the best solution to the problem, given the dirty challenges of solar and wind.

The fact of the matter is that despite your boasting it is unlikely that your grandchildren could survive in the situation I presented. It is fine to boast one can "live off the land" when one has access to firearms, modern equipment, [rope, netting, knives, and other accoutrements]. I suspect it would far from easy when reduced to the "bare essentials"

The thread title deals with solar energy and the issues of the production of solar panels in China, not nuclear power.

Once again an attempted solution only serves to create its own problems.

Maybe Dutch/Flemish allegorical symbolism, as can be typically found in many works by the Brueghels (the Elder was a contemporary), influenced by ergot poisoning?

I thought we were having a civilised exchange. I appear to have been mistaken.

And of course our production and consumption of energy is only one facet of a very complex problem concerning anthropogenic impacts on the planet.
