Your assumption is false.

In reality, 90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border, a geographic area which, by coincidence, is roughly the size of Texas.

The "Greater Golden Horseshoe", where over 9 million Canadians live in an area 1/22nd the size of Texas, has a population density of 759/square mile
Yeah the population distribution of Canada is pretty weird. It's actually interesting that more Americans live above the southernmost point of Canada, than Canadians.

and that parts of California are north of parts of Canada.

And that was back in June. Since then more hospitals have started requiring it so it is only logical that many more have quit or retired as a result.

Yep. At least 5 Texas hospitals have followed their lead, as of August 4th.

Seems like a reasonable precaution for me to follow, to protect both myself (if I am in the presence of infected people) and others (if I am unknowingly infected with COVID).
Knowing what we know about the ineffectiveness of masks for stopping a virus, there is no reason to stifle yourself with a face covering, and if he's as educated as you claim, then he has to know this, so either he's ignoring the data and is exhibiting paranoia, or he's virtue signaling.

I find your attitude callous. Hospital staff have contracted this disease and died from it while caring for patient suffering from it.

Yeah, some have. Others haven't. Others spent the entirety of the last year making nurse tiktoks.

It's actually something we've known for years and was considered an uncontroversial fact prior to the China flu scare when the government invoked its standard "We must do something; X is something; therefore, we must do X" response to a problem.

But anyway, here's a recent study showing non-medical masks to be nearly 100% ineffective at stopping viruses, and medical masks used in a hospital setting are only around 50% effective at best.

Well, first you were totally ignorant of the fact that this is part of the reason nurses and staff are in short supply in Texas.

Instead, you came up with something dopey about things being "hunky dory" in Texas. Classic example of your inability to deploy even the most basic logic.

However, the right to choose comes with the responsibility of accepting the outcome of one's choice.

That's not the point --- you seemed to question whether it really was true, and OF COURSE they realized that "accepting the outcome of one's choice", because they thought it important enough to quit or be fire.

                              Is it?
It is. Now you may respond with a dingbat question that has nothing whatsoever to do with topic in order to try to change the subject.
