Trump claims crowd at January 6 rally before Capitol assault was "loving"

Washington — Former President Donald Trump claimed the crowd of his supporters who gathered outside the White House for a rally on January 6 before the assault on the U.S. Capitol was "loving," according to published audio of an interview he conducted with a pair of Washington Post reporters.

Mr. Trump discussed the rally at the Ellipse during a March interview with reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker for their new book "I Alone Can Fix It," and said the audience was there to support his unfounded claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged against him.

"It was a loving crowd, too, by the way. There was a lot of love," the former president said during their meeting at his South Florida club, Mar-A-Lago, according to the audio. "I've heard that from everybody. Many, many have told me that was a loving crowd."

YAY, another "Trump is living rent-free in my big empty head" thread!!!!
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Not everybody who attended the rally were involved in the mostly peaceful protest. Not everybody involved in the mostly peaceful protest attended the rally.

No, IIRC, the mostly peaceful protest on the capital started while Trump was still speaking, so most of the loving crowd was still at his speech.

                They did indeed.

And just like we are headed for the deaths of thousands more by covid due to their foolishness multiplied across the land by millions, we are also headed for many more years of Trump centric GOP politics where an attempted insurrection earns you nearly god like adoration at your palace in Valhalla ... er mar a lago.
My 'faith' designation is 'Christian'. But I do not want the label "Christian" leading to mockery of faith in Christ. Consequently, I apologize to those of you reading words of mine written here that reflect poorly on the what Faith in Christ means, or what Faith in Christ can in fact do in terms of bringing Grace, Mercy, and Love into the world.

Yes, my friends who attended enjoyed the loving atmosphere. They had a great time meeting and praying with many new people.

It seems my point went over your head, although that is admittedly a low bar.

Well,ah . . . for a devoted worshiper of Trump you have no bar, and ignoring the assault on the Capital and the Capital Law enforcement. Both Trump , Gondwanaland and you have a warped tragic sense of love.

Nobody is ignoring anything. I only pointed out that those who attended President Trump's loving rally, and those involved in the mostly peaceful protest, were not necessarily the same people.

And those who were were only a fraction thereof.
