    Message from Seattle Pride

This is not a Seattle Pride Event.

We highly recommend an article in The Atlantic entitled The Case for Reparations by Ta-Nehisi Coates, and a policy brief by the Brookings Institute, and looking into the difference between equality (everyone having the same thing, regardless of their needs) and equity (the fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all people, while at the same time striving to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of some groups).
Seattle Pride supports the TWOC Solidarity Network in their efforts to create a safe place for the Black queer community to celebrate Pride.

If it makes gullible lefties happy to continue to get swindled, more power to them.

All those lily-white people in Seattle are hoping that they might get a glimpse of a black person, in real life. Possibly for the first time.

Boy are they going to be disappointed if they turn out to be just work-a-day middle class types.

You are obviously referring to the political white left and how they think about minorities, and couldn't agree more.

Other than snark, you didn't address the question.

Private event and those who attend it who would be effected are likely the type who'd be tickled pink for the chance to show everyone their wokeness by paying more.

In one way it's kind of like the lottery. Nobody forces you to flush your money away. It's been called a tax on stupidity for good reason.

But, OTOH, with lotteries at least a portion is put to good use. In my state they fund a whole lot of college scholarships. But as we've seen with the tens of millions of dollars (or more) that BLM raked in with contributions, this is likely just a scheme. Nothing or a paltry token of what they raise will go to help anyone other than themselves.

I'm always still in trouble again

This looks like a public event held by a private organization.

I suspect they're going to have disappointingly few white folks in attendance, which they will of course blame on racism. They'll be right, but for the wromg reasons.

Private organizations hold events on public property where they charge a fee for all the time. Used to head out to various Atlanta public parks where there would be weekend concerts (often attracting some big names) with a couple of folding lawn chairs and a cooler, and entry wasn't free.

Right, but at that point they become public services. I wonder if charging someone a fee based on skin color would be allowed under the law (if the wronged party sued)

I think you grossly underestimate white liberals and their propensity to virtue signal, especially celebrities and "blue check" types that would just relish indulging in selfies at the event and show how not racist they are to all their social media followers. They're just like the Pharisees of our day.

I think they should be charged even more.

                        For being stupid.

These folks are like the parents of supposed prepubescent transgenders who can hardly wait to tell their friends all about it and be the only one in their group who are that woke.

So if white people do attend, they have to pay reparations for being racist, and if they don't attend, they are not supporting keeping the event free for black people because they are racist!
