Gee, I wonder if that has anything to do with..... I dunno.... Israel's bombing of media offices, and their murder of 40+ kids (just 8 last night), their brutal beatdown of Palestinian women in the street, etc...... That's a head scratcher. No one here is disputing the right for the State of Israel to exist. However, what concerns many around the world is the illegality of seizing other people's land and property and the fact that Ben Gurion's 1947 diary note still holds and that there are "No boundaries for the future Jewish State".

There are also the Jewish extremists who still believe that Genesis 15.18 should apply "On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates, 19 the land of the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites, 20 the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, 21 the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.” and that the entire region between Israel and Iraq should be theirs..

The building was known to house Hamas military assets, and Israel gave plenty of warning for innocents to vacate before leveling the place.

Hiding behind civilian is an old tactic of Palestinian terrorists in an effort to create civilian causalities. For that matter, they've even been known to kill their own civilians and then blame it on their enemies.

It isn't just Hamas. Back in the early days of the invasion of Iraq, the leader of the Jaysh al-Mahdi (Mahdi Army), Muqtada al-Sadr[1], anticipated being attacked by American forces while holed up in a mosque. The attack never took place and soon afterwards residents around the mosque started complaining about the horrible smell emanating from the mosque. A short time later it was discovered that Sadr's men had gathered up all the corpses from morgues that they could get their hands on[2] and put them in the mosque. They had hoped to show the media just how many innocent civilians had been ruthlessly "killed" by American forces after the place was attacked.

                1. the cleric was recently back in the news when he declared that gay marriage caused Covid:

One of the most appalling things that have caused this epidemic is the legalization of same-sex marriage. Hence, I call on all governments to repeal this law immediately and without any hesitation.

                2. for which there was likely no shortage of considering the time period.

That's Israel's common claim to justify their wholesale slaughter of Palestinians, sure. Much like the police officer using their catchall 'resisting arrest' to justify what they do to someone.

There's no actual evidence of this. Just claims by Israel to justify their destruction

BTW, bombing a media office is a war crime.

And AP is calling baloney on Israel's claims and demanding an independent investigation (smart - only an idiot would take Israel's word for it, given their many lies in the past, including their lies around the murder of our own US Sailors).

                          https://www.yahoo.com/news/ap-top-ed...163811444.html

It's pretty clear in my mind this was Israel's attempt to cripple reporting on their atrocities in Palestine.

The Associated Press is not a credible news organization.

But a 2014 piece from the Atlantic written by a reporter in the region detailed a long and questionable history between the AP and the jihadist group, critics observed.

"When Hamas’s leaders surveyed their assets before this summer’s round of fighting, they knew that among those assets was the international press. The AP staff in Gaza City would witness a rocket launch right beside their office, endangering reporters and other civilians nearby—and the AP wouldn’t report it," the article reads.

The journalist at the time claimed that Hamas fighters would regularly "burst into the AP’s Gaza bureau and threaten the staff—and the AP wouldn’t report it."
