One of my buddies got a first year Citation as a gift when he graduated college. It was the epitome of the old adage about never getting a car the year it is first introduced. Wait until they get the bugs worked out.

In any case, this was one of my High School friends who ended up drinking themselves to death in their early 30s. After he lost his job, got divorced and moved back home^[1], the idiot ended up trading his car in for a VCR.

While the car had issues (that would have taken about two or three hundred dollars to fix), trading it for a used VCR was hardly a great move.

As I noted initially, some clashes are evident, but given that emotions are running high on both sides, that is to be expected.
