Saw the rabbit hole you got drug into on police unions, the lopsided "discussion." I won't play that game. I would rather cut that off at the knees now, than go ten more exchanges where a long reply is written, links given, etc. Only to have the response be a one line question asking me more questions. It's like dealing with a toddler who keeps asking "why". It's not how to have a discussion.

        Never said it wasn't.

Are you equating the games that H_A indulges in with Christ's methods?

While Rev. Schelin asserts there is a parallel between Biblically based church discipline and modern "cancel culture", he does not present a compelling argument demonstrating that the parallel is in anyway meaningful. The Bible provides clear guidelines about proper behavior and has a very rigidly defined procedure for administrating discipline. The goal is not to "cancel" the person but give him multiple opportunities to repent. "Cancel culture", on the other hand, is vague, has no defined procedure, and is purely vindictive in nature.

Did you read the entire article and the links from it?

The essay by R. Albert Mohler Jr. Church Discipline: The Missing Mark was very interesting.

A rather long-winded way of tacitly acknowledging that you have not thought through how you would accomplish those things in your statement::

"It takes people fighting against the pressure to cancel, pressure to fire, pressure to boycott, companies standing against the boycotts, etc. It takes people willing to be willing to "be the bad guy" in the eyes of many. And, it takes people willing to look at the behavior and recognize that it's wrong, and be willing to not give in."

A rather patronising tone, do you not think? In what regard is Dr Schelin "ignorant"? Or do you apply that epithet to anyone who disagrees with you?

I also recommend you read the essay it will be found in one of the links

I'm well aware of the method. Ill remind you Socrates was killed. Plus his questions tended to be more in depth.

Your post expressed your opinions. Simply because someone holds to a differing opinion from you it does not automatically follow that they are therefore, "ignorant".
