*sigh*
A good friend of mine posted this on Facebook:
I re-Shared it on my own Timeline (or whatever), along with my declaration that it is bat-____ crazy. It appears that several of my friends both believe this is going to happen, and that it would be a good thing.
Lara Trump has apparently been shut out of the loop, because she has said she has no knowledge that Bad Orange Man believes any of this.

It's nutty if Bad Orange Man really is encouraging that kind of lunacy.
It's bad if Maggie is spreading Fake News.
But nothing is worse than the possibility that some of my fellow Trump supporters might actually *welcome* such a "reinstatement."
How would that even happen? What is the Constitutional pathway?
I believe it is bad for the nation that Biden won.
I believe there were election irregularities more numerous and serious than usual, largely working to the benefit of Biden and the Dems.
I believe Big Tech and Mainstream Media collectively served as propagandists and information gatekeepers in ways that benefited Biden and the Dems.
But I'm not convinced that in toto that amounted to a "steal" of the election.
And even if it did, I don't see any way of "undoing" it that would not be even worse.

One of two people mentioned in the sentence above is not in touch with reality by any means.

I wondered about that. When I went to the archived link and saw some of the other headlines, I thought it sounded Babylon Bee-like.
I often -- like, multiple times daily -- share Bee stories on Facebook. I'm always disappointed and gobsmacked when some of my friends are outraged, not recognizing satire. I consider the ability to recognize satire and sarcasm more accurate and useful than most IQ tests.

Btw, there is definitely a faction (albeit small) of Trump supporters that are believing some really off-the-wall nonsense lunacy. I mean stuff that is just absolutely off-the-chain nutty. I was watching a video of a guy (who's supposedly Christian) who is fairly intelligent and used to be a pretty level-headed guy in the past spouting a Qanon conspiracy theory that goes something like this: Apparently JFK Jr. faked his death, is sending out secret messages to Trump's supporters, and is planning to run with Trump as his mate sometime this year when Trump finally seizes power from Biden, who isn't really POTUS but is faking like he's POTUS, and then America will finally be the America they were promised like it was before the leftist took it over. I mean, the guy really believes this lunacy, and it was so sad to watch his psychosis on display right before my eyes.
I honestly don't understand what's happening with these folks, most of which I believe are Christian, or how to explain that on any sort of theological level. Though I highly doubt it's that big of a cult, it just seems pervasive because they're networking on the internet in real time. But the fact there are definitely multiple folks (the guy has a girlfriend also fully on board this idea) that really believe this is some scary stuff.

Satire can often reflect and encourage violent or racist thought. It happened a lot leading up to the holocaust. So I would believe doing so could be justified. So then I would be of a mind that a blanket condemnation of such action is too broad a stroke.
