I doubt you remember CRT from the 1970s either.
Since you've cited Wikipedia for the origin of CRT, you should do the same for the origin of "White privilege".

Right, but even if someone mentioned white privilege back in the 60s, it has gained widespread use do to CRT.

Again I would emphasize that optional university courses is different to compulsory courses for kids.
Just because it's not called CRT in schools LOWER than "higher education" doesn't mean it's not being taught, as has been demonstrated repeatedly.

The paper was just included to show you that the concepts I mentioned that have become part of the mainstream liberal vocabulary come from CRT. That paper was written quite some time ago, and now the CRT is trickling down to K-12 schools, as the other links I have provided shows.

I was intrigued to see a US progressive news and politics youtube show cover Critical Race Theory today. This is the first time I have seen any US progressive news and politics commentator speak to the topic. So I was curious about what they'd say.

The latest right wing buzzword that's getting people fired up and angry is "Critical Race Theory".

Republicans are absolutely and completely against the teaching of Critical Race Theory in schools. They want to ban it. They believe it's terrible. It might even be 'Communist' or 'Socialist'. It's really, really, bad [according to them].

But they don't actually know what it is.

Check out this interview that Mark Lamont Hill did with former Georgian congressman Vernon Jones, a Trumpian favorite, who is really against Critical Race Theory, but he has no idea what it is....

[Republicans] continue to attack Critical Race Theory without actually indicating that they know what it is. When they're asked what it is, they seem to have no idea...

There's no difference here [between them attacking socialism and attacking Critical Race Theory]. They don't know what socialism is. They don't know what Critical Race Theory is.

The first step in every one of these conversations should be: Ask them to define the terms. You will very quickly see that they have no idea what they are talking about.

I have to say I agree with them. It's also been my own conclusion that Republicans have no idea what critical race theory is and can't define it, but they're vehemently sure they're against it.

"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

Folks in here have given you numerous definitions and examples, but you just ignore it.

You also keep ignoring the clue in the OP. If Dems are turned off by "anti-racist" messaging to the point it negatively affects their policies, does this mean Dems are really just a bunch of racists, or are the "anti-racist" messages something more than just being anti-racist?

It's the opposite of what MLK desired --- it's a hyper focus on the color of one's skin instead of the content of their character.

                And, yeah, I'm against it.

                      • We upset Starlight's narrow focused world view of conservatives when we told him about CRT being spread around so he basically did a and went looking for some source that agreed with him so he could feel comfortable again.

I'm waiting for him to support is notion that crime in NYC is no biggie simply because there was "this one shooting".

Starlight....many of the posters here are saying there are schools below university level *requiring* students to learn about CRT. Are you not seeing them?

                                Those posters are incorrect.

They're conflating "the school teaches a topic that in some way touches on racial issues", with CRT (which is a specific advanced academic theory optionally studied in the graduate programs of a tiny number of law schools).

The problem is that conservative media have reinterpreted 'CRT' to basically mean "saying anything about racial issues that a white supremacist wouldn't endorse". This means schools can be subjectively and arbitrarily accused of teaching CRT if a particular white supremacist parent doesn't like the sound of what they imagine the school might be teaching based on what they've heard 2nd hand.
