How does unaccompanied minors fit into that narrative? The argument that it wasn't their choice, that they aren't responsible don't hold water.

I mean if their lives were in dire danger I can see a parent trying to save their kids by sending them away, like in a war, but if that WERE the case and they were truly refugees, then the parents would qualify for amnesty and allowed to enter the country with their children so there would be no need to send them away alone.

I am. I doubt too many of these kids are just running out on their own. We know it sometimes happens, like when some 14 year old girl runs out with some creep she met online, but I highly doubt that's the majority of these cases.
