Pretending it's about "CHOICE" seems to deceptively be hiding the fact that it's about religious indoctrination, curriculum quality, and government funding.

If this isn't bad enough, he keeps getting reelected by dummies worse than him.

Back in 2010 Hank Johnson (D-GA) expressed concern that adding a few thousand people to Guam's population might cause the island to "become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize" during a House Armed Services Committee hearing.

Right after it happened his office claimed that he was confused as a result of some medication (he does seem a bit zoned) but later as the story gained national attention it suddenly changed to a claim that he was simply joking and has a real deadpan sense of humor. The only problem with that is that nobody could recall his exhibiting this sort of humor previously and in the years since his remarks nobody seems to have seen it again.

It pretty much is already a "unitary system" being controlled by the Democrat funded Teachers Unions, which, in turn, donate tons of money to Democrat politicians, who fund the Teachers Unions....

You've made the case for getting rid of Teachers Unions! Just like Police Unions - they resist change, and are always laser focused on their dues paying members, not the students or the public.

That's kinda like Daylight Savings Time -- Wise Old Native American - "only the white man thinks that cutting the end off a blanket and sewing it onto the other end makes a longer blanket".
This reminds me of when the National Education Association's (NEA, largest teacher's union) president at the time, Keith Geiger, said on Larry King's radio show, during a discussion about school choice, "we can't let kids escape from public schools." Interesting choice of words there. "Escape"

It reveals the teacher's union mindset -- they must keep education under lock and key, no matter how how bad it may be. And Geiger freely admitted it was bad. He said that inner city schools "are absolutely terrible -- they ought to be blown up." Still, it matters not. Children should not be allowed to "escape" from the very bad public schools they are attending. They need to be sacrificed to the teacher unions[1].

A case in point, something I've brought up previously, is what happened at Mollie E. Ray Elementary in Orlando, Florida as the 2002-2003 school year began. The school had received an "F" rating for the past two years (1 of only 10 schools to "earn" such a distinction), as judged annually by the state of Florida so the victims of such failed schools are allowed to apply for vouchers to help them escape. So how did the school react? Vowing to fix the problem? To work on improving education?

                      Nah.

To start, students were met by teachers wearing T-shirts proclaiming "F = Fantastic." Getting an "F" grade was now considered a positive thing. The union educrats chose to brainwash young minds with Orwellian double-speak into thinking that flunking is actually a good thing.

Then school officials attacked the scores of parents, who did choose to opt out, for "abandoning" their schools in a time of need. Excuse me. Apparently some parents had the temerity to want the best for their children rather than sacrifice them on the altar of public "edjumakatun" and were savaged for it.

Still it would have been interesting come Report Card time when the little darlings still stuck in that unrepentantly failed school explained this "F = Fantastic" concept to their parents. Trouble is, too many might fallen for it. Especially those in "blue" districts."

The fact is, if you really want to see the teacher's union philosophy summed up then the quote attributed to Albert Shanker, president of the United Federation of Teachers and then the American Federation of Teachers) for well over 30 years, says it all

When school children start paying union dues, that’s when I'll start representing the interests of school children

Teacher's unions are pretty upfront with the fact that they aren't there to improve education but rather to make union member's jobs easier.

                      1. Public school teachers are more than twice as likely to send their own children to a private school than a the general public. It's almost like they know something.

The bill passed on a partisan 50-49 vote.
All proposed Republican amendments were defeated, although some provisions were scaled back to appease conservative Dems.

Biden will most definitely sign this. A big win for him.

Average Americans can expect to get individual payments and expanded unemployment benefits.

This bill has broad support among Americans and even among polled Republicans.

I seem to recall that Trump (before he lost) advocated going big, with similar payments of $1400 to suffering Americans.
It’s getting a lot of praise from economists. If it achieves the results they are projecting then that alone sounds like it will guarantee his second term.

And despite its massive popularity in polls, including among Republicans, not a single Republican Senator voted for it! Not even those of them who pretend to be 'reasonable' like Mitt Romney.

And many of the reasons those Republicans gave for not voting for it applied equally to the Covid stimulus bills they twice voted for under Trump. Sad!

They would rather cry crocodile tears about Doctor Seuss books than help the American people. Every single Republican politician has become the enemy of the American people, and should be voted out of office.

Honestly? It's unlikely something done in the first 100 days "guarantees" anything when it comes to an election 3 years away.
