  • Texas Energy Crisis

Ted Cruz has acknowledged he has no defense for goofing on California’s energy blackouts during its raging wildfire season:

    So....

"I got no defense," Cruz tweeted Tuesday, responding to the critiques. "A blizzard strikes Texas & our state shuts down. Not good."

An honest answer! Git a rope!

What possible defense could one muster under the circumstances? His supporters are freezing in addition to his detractors, and he needs to be reeelected.

Perhaps both states need more reliable power plants! Like natural gas and nuclear...

Texas is an interesting case, as we have our own power grid - ERCOT - and its board of directors are not even in the state. I have a thread on this.
I don't think it's reasonable to assume that anybody could have imagined we'd have this incredibly unusual hard freeze.
And it's windmills and solar that's having trouble, as well as other options.

Down here in the South you don't even need a blizzard. Not even an inch's worth can do it.

I'm always still in trouble again

Is Cruz now a state official?

This is as moronic as someone blaming the Obamessiah personally for all the shootings that keep taking place in Chicago while he occupied the White House

Actually the majority of the problem is related to Natural Gas.

The wind farms are producing more power than expected under such circumstances. Texas does not build heaters into its windmill blades due to the fact such weather is so unusual.

But this is not a problem for more northern windfarms.

Here's non-state official Ted Cruz on California blackouts:

"California is now unable to perform even basic functions of civilization, like having reliable electricity. Biden/Harris/AOC want to make CA’s failed energy policy the standard nationwide."

I agree if I did that, it would be:

Trump claims 5K murders in Chicago during Obama presidency - that's incorrect

Tim Boyd, mayor of Colorado City, Texas, posted the controversial thoughts Tuesday while some city residents had been without power or running water for 24 hours and temperatures remained below freezing.

OK, so that's really stupid - are you proposing that Cruz set him up for that? Your attack was on Cruz, remember?

To be fair (though it looks like you don't want to do that ) California has had a lot of experience with their problems.

I don't think ANYBODY could have predicted Texas would be this long in sustained "below freezing" condition -- it is truly an epic situation.

To be fair, this problem has exposed the need for renewable energy, which the right continually disparages despite it making tons of sense.

The "renewable energy" failed, too. What good is having MORE of something that doesn't work in a hard freeze or blizzard conditions?
