  • What's the US Conservative equivalent of moving to Canada?

Liberals in the US sometimes talk about 'moving to Canada' when they are suggesting that the political environment in the US is unfavourable (e.g. under Trump) and they are thinking about going to a country that better matches their politics.

Ruth Bader Ginsberg famously suggested she might move to New Zealand if Trump won. Bernie Sanders often talks about the Scandinavian countries when talking about countries that match his politics. And I've seen US conservatives describe Europe in general as 'socialist'. Clearly there are plenty of options for US liberals to move to countries that reflect their politics.

I am wondering what other country that US conservatives feel best matches their politics?

If dictator Biden exiles you and your family failing to support his regime, where would you go to find somewhere that you could feel politically at home? And what political policies and political values would you prioritize when thinking about what country to select for your exile? (Let's imagine you don't have family or friends living internationally and are looking for somewhere that best matches your politics)
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

A google search revealed in 2012 it was Australia. Not that the destination made any sense.

I'd say Hungary is the country that most closely resembles the America that Trump supporters want. If a Trump voter wanted to stay in North America but leave the United States, then the rural Canadian prairies (Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba) is likely the best destination.
"My favorite color in the alphabet is three." - Donald J. Trump
"The 'J' in my middle name stands for 'Jenius'" - Donald J. Trump

For the most part, with very few exceptions, you don't hear these sort of claims being made by conservatives so it's pretty much a rhetorical question not based in reality.

The last part of that sentence is something you specialize in.

And the liberals, who after every election loss who made that claim are time and time again, shown to have been full of El Toro poopoo

              Interesting question.

It would have to be someplace where private gun ownership is allowed, abortion is banned, climate change science is rejected, covid is considered a hoax or where mask wearing and social distancing are not practiced, and authoritarian right wingers run the government. Maybe some place in S. America, like Brazil?

OTOH, I have seen some Trump supporters wearing T shirts saying "I would rather be Russian than Democrat".

I commented on the other thread where you posted this. Where is the context? Where and when was this taken, and how did she acquire that hat? Did she express sympathies towards the USSR or was it a joke of some sort?

If I was exiled from the US, I would try UK, Germany, or Sweden which is where my family came from.

                      And as I replied

It doesn't matter how she obtained it. Anyone with even a smidgen of common sense would know better than to pose for pictures wearing a hat like that with an old Soviet Union pin on it -- unless they saw absolutely nothing wrong with doing so.

                      And

Imagine if Trump's press secretary was wearing that hat. You'd be spinning on your eyebrows spitting wooden nickels hysterically screeching how it was PROOF™ of collusion.

The great thing about the USA is we get to do it all over again every 4 years. And even with the liberals in charge, we still have the greatest constitution in the world.

No, it doesn't. Australia is further to the left than the US.
America - too good to let the conservatives drag it back to 1950.

I would move to Australia, but that's just because I really enjoyed my visit to Sydney. I always say it reminded me of San Diego.
