  • McConnell vs. Trump

It took a while, but the president waited till the end of his term to try to shame McConnell for being a traitor for not supporting Trump's STS con. After stabbing Pence in the back and fomenting mass anger for months on Twitter and at rallies, Trump has given McConnell the motivation to strike back:

With the right circumstances, any president can be charged with impeachable crimes. Reagan, Bush 1 and 2, and Obama all probably could have been impeached for aggression and cover ups. Trump started early with the emoluments clause. Chris Hedges wrote a piece on it last year, in case anyone needs to be reminded Trump practically begged to be impeached.

The emoluments clause has never been used in the history of the Constitution, although it could have been several times, especially early on in the country.

Which is one of the reasons Trump tested its limits, especially with strong GOP support.
