I think you're getting a little carried away in the post-Trump euphoria . The adults are back in charge, but that's about all we can say at this point - though I agree that there's been some positive movements such as the ones you have highlighted above. I've also seen mention of his flurry of executive orders such as to bring the US back into the Paris climate accord - though I expected this as a bare minimum from a responsible government.

It remains to be seen if unity is possible with those across the aisle, I'm sure Biden remembers the Obama years- it's just a question of whether or not he learned his lesson.

It doesn't matter if he talks about unity at the inauguration- he can't mean it if at the same time he's employing qualified transgender people to positions of power. What sort of uniter would make policies or hire people the right disagree with?

Over half of the deaths in the state took place in those nursing homes. And while the elderly were dying in droves in nursing homes Levine removed her mother from the nursing home she was in.

Her shut down policies have been among the country's strictest which resulted in crippling their economy but hasn't done much if anything to curtail the spread of the disease.

I'll go first, answering the question -- I don't think Biden has it in him.

A real statesman, as POTUS, could use the bully pulpit to try to bring sanity and unity to our nation.

This is NOT a "blame Trump" thread, so no OMB nonsense here.

I have often done work in crisis management and problem resolution, and have been called on to bring order where chaos has reigned -- mostly in Churches, but also in a number of businesses.

The first order of business is to call for all of the moderates on both sides (assuming there are any) to work together to bring peace.
Along with that, you appeal to the extremes to moderate their actions, and call for the voice of reason.

I believe that's what Biden SHOULD do --- but I don't believe he has the character.
OR, maybe his handlers won't let him.

When he speaks, he sounds angry and accusative..... what we need is a STATESMAN.
