  • Is it POSSIBLE for Biden to be a REAL Statesman?

I'll go first, answering the question -- I don't think Biden has it in him.

A real statesman, as POTUS, could use the bully pulpit to try to bring sanity and unity to our nation.

This is NOT a "blame Trump" thread, so no OMB nonsense here.

I have often done work in crisis management and problem resolution, and have been called on to bring order where chaos has reigned -- mostly in Churches, but also in a number of businesses.

The first order of business is to call for all of the moderates on both sides (assuming there are any) to work together to bring peace.
Along with that, you appeal to the extremes to moderate their actions, and call for the voice of reason.

I believe that's what Biden SHOULD do --- but I don't believe he has the character.
OR, maybe his handlers won't let him.

When he speaks, he sounds angry and accusative..... what we need is a STATESMAN.

I don't think Joe has it in him.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

“Our focus will be on small businesses on Main Street that aren’t wealthy and well-connected, that are facing real economic hardships through not fault of their own,” Biden said in a video that was posted to his administration’s official transition Twitter account. “Our priority will be Black, Latino, Asian, and Native American owned small businesses, women-owned businesses, and finally having equal access to resources needed to reopen and rebuild.”

It appears that his MAIN focus is appeasing the left.

And why not, if the right have had it all their way for the last 4 years. Where is your sense of fair play?

Well, if the left's complaint over the last 4 was that Trump was just being president of his supporters, it seems rather hypocritical for Biden to only focus on his, does it not?

You're one of those idiots who thinks that the way forward is to continue the way things have been because "that's they way THEY did it"?

And "the right" have not "had it all their way", you Goofus.

China Joe has always been a nasty piece of work. It's just that until recently, the Democrat party was able to keep him bottled up and out of the public eye. Now that he is poised to become the most visible person in the United States, they can't reign him in.

C'mon man, I can take you out back and whoop the pushups out of you!

I think the media environment is sufficiently polarized that it doesn't matter what Biden actually does, he'll be reinterpreted by Fox, OAN, etc, a far-left socialist who hates the right and refuses to give an inch regardless of how much he tries to accommodate them or unite the country.

Not hypocritical at all. Think of a move to the left, if it happens, as a consequence of too much rightness during the last period. If Trump had steered a middle course, there would be no need to deviate now. This is course correction.

Or he's pandering to far leftist dupes who believe liberal millionaires and billionaires are going to bring them a socialist uptopia.

First, before the Chicom coronavirus and shutdowns hamstrung the economy blacks and Hispanics were seeing the highest employment rates ever, along with a significant increase in real income that something like that means. So even if "the right hav[ing]i had it all their way for the last 4 years" is correct then that meant it was pretty good for minorities.

Second, even if you disagree with the above (and unfortunately numbers don't lie), now the same guy who wants re-education camps now is promoting the concept of two wrongs make a right.

Go back to trolling, you were more interesting then.

Not only have they had it all their own way but they have gone too far; so far that the wheels are coming off, the disguise has fallen and we see them clearly for the first time.

If Biden was good enough for Obama, he’s good enough for me. He will set about rebuilding the government institutions left to rot by the recent administration. All hail Biden.

I am confident that you will feel much more like your good humoured old self after a few Biden months. Enjoy the happiness of your fellow Americans.

No doubt you recall that the booming economy pre-covid was set on course by the magnificent Obama. Your guy took a lot of credit for other people’s hard work.

I've watched Fox News the last few days -- I had quit watching for a while -- and I don't see this type of attitude at all. Perhaps people like you shouldn't be fueling the fire with your constant extreme left vitriol.
