Sending in troops makes terrorism worse, and removing them fixes the problem. Osama Bin Laden stated that the presence of US military bases in Saudi Arabia was the ultimate insult that could not be borne. Since 9/11, the US has massively stirred up terrorism around the world, by waging an insane 'war on terror' that by its nature of putting a foreign military presence in more countries has inevitably caused more terrorism and made us all less safe. The idiocy is pretty much off the charts.

Gallup did a poll of people around the world, asking them what country they thought was the biggest threat to world peace, and the most common answer was the US.

Let me remind you that when "people all around the world" get their butts in a crack, and somebody asks "who ya gonna call", the most common answer has been the US.

What happened when we took our troops out of Iraq? More or less terrorism? And what do you think will happen in Afghanistan? No doubt the Taliban will regain control.

Osama Bin Laden stated that the presence of US military bases in Saudi Arabia was the ultimate insult that could not be borne
But the government of Saudi Arabia wanted us there, so it wasn't an occupation.

Serious answer: The UN. I'm fine with UN-approved interventions.

It's when the US starts shouting "I've got this! I've got this!" and runs in like a overenthusiastic 6 year old to light fireworks, that everyone in the rest of the world starts face-palming and shaking their heads. The history of US interventions in the 20th century was bad, like really really bad.

The problem with that argument is that it disregards the fact we were doing multiple things in that region at about the same time ISIS rose to power, namely taking down Gaddafi and arming terrorist groups in Syria. And isn't it ironic that ISIS pretty much took control of parts of Iraq and Syria at about the same time we got involved in the Syrian conflict. So pulling out if Iraq is not an isolated event and has to be considered in the context of all this other mayhem we were orchestrating in the region at the same time.

If it weren't for Al Gore, he wouldn't even know anything about posting, and he'd not even know anything about US Politics, without the internetzweb.

Yeah, they did a bang up job recently in places like Darfur and the Central African Republic (CAR) either stepping back and allowing massacres to take place or systematically raping those they're supposed to protect.

Yeah, I had a really good list of UN "successes" running, and I didn't realize my laptop wasn't plugged in, battery died, and ..... AND, at WHAT COST?

Meanwhile, that "deal" with Iran just keeps getting betterer and betterer!

                                Source: YahooNews

Tehran (AFP) - Tehran has deployed a recently delivered Russian-made long-range missile system to central Iran to protect its Fordo nuclear facility, state television said Sunday.

Protecting nuclear facilities is paramount "in all circumstances" General Farzad Esmaili, the commander of Iran's air defences, told the IRIB channel.

"Today, Iran's sky is one of the most secure in the region," he added.

A video showed an S-300 carrier truck in Fordo, raising its missile launchers toward the sky, next to other counter-strike weaponry.

The images were aired hours after supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei gave a speech to air force commanders, including Esmaili, in which he stressed that Iranian military power was for defensive purposes only.

"Continued opposition and hype on the S-300 or the Fordo site are examples of the viciousness of the enemy," Khamenei said.

I notice the Tweb Dunderheads who valiantly defended this fiasco are a lot less vocal, lately.
