And you had the Tea Party. I don't recall there being any rioting resulting from their hundreds of demonstrations. In fact the parks and like that they used as sites for protesting reported that they tended to leave the place cleaner than it was before their protest. Compare that to the Occupy protests or BLM/antifa riots.

Of course, the Tea Party weren't fringe and full of crazies like Q-anon, in spite of the MSM scouring the edges of their protests frantically seeking out weirdos that they could use to claim represented them. Ironic given that during the Occupy mess the same MSM kept declaring they represented typical Americans and you didn't have to search along the edges for the nut cases -- they were typically the invited speakers, organizers and such.

I would agree but would reverse the order of your last sentence :)
America - too good to let the conservatives drag it back to 1950.

There were already multiple instances of violent anti-Trump protests well before he was even elected. And the day after he was elected there was rioting in Oakland for three or four days, mostly caused by students from Berkeley. IIRC, when school authorities claimed the violence was done by outside agitators a number of students stepped forward and denied this was the case and proudly took responsibility.

Similar rioting took place in a number of other cities as well. Enough so that a reporter for the Chicago Tribune to boast that the protests in that city were "devoid of any of the heavy vandalism of effigy burning that occurred elsewhere" and overall were "relatively peaceful."

Why do you insist on referring to peaceful demonstrations in Chicago as rioting?
If some demonstrations over a particular issue turn into riots, that does not mean that all demonstrations on that issue should be described as riots.

Why are you doing the same thing with the protests at the Capitol, where the overwhelming number of people were peacefully demonstrating?

So the vast majority of Trump supporters did not riot the other day - they were mostly peaceful... Correct?
