  • Bombing In Nashville.

It was a pretty powerful bomb, damaging 20 building. The thing was the van with the explosives had a loud speaker warning every to leave. Obviously they did not want anyone hurt.

It was parked next to an AT&T building, so there's a very long list of suspects.

          I'm thinking more anti government.

Specifically, I'd think - anti-cop, since there appears to have been warnings to civilians to stay away, but gunfire to draw first responders.

That's what I was thinking. Residents report hearing three shots (recorded?), then five and finally somewhere between five and ten. That, along with a message playing that "a potential bomb would detonate within 15 minutes" would tend to chase off residents but attract the police and fire department. I wonder if it went off before 15 minutes, which would suggest it was designed to draw in anti-bomb techs with a false time limit. I heard that after the blast that there were some cries for help heard followed by a secondary blast but I don't think that's been confirmed, but if true that is an old trick used by terrorists to get first responders.

The timing of the blast might also be a clue to motivation.

And it's possible that it was a two-fer....
                  A) given the extensive damage to the AT&T infrastructure - cell phone, landlines, internet, etc, THAT could have been the target
                  2) the nature in which it was deployed was intended to warn civilians but draw in first responders for a lethal blow
                  C) both of the above.

Either way, so far, it sounds like ZERO fatalities, and only 3 minor injuries?

I heard a hypothesis that it was to probe response times and tactics. Let's hope that's not the case.

It was on Christmas. That would be the biggest statement being made I would think.

I would guess that's not the case here, as those factors are pretty easily surmised in other less lethal ways. But, who knows!

This is an area where it would be prudent to defer to your judgement.

Still watching for more detail --- not sure if AT&T infrastructure was the main target, or if the main emphasis was to draw in first responders for an attack on law enforcement.

I've been to that area of Nashville, and there isn't a whole lot there - which makes it seem like too big a coincidence that AT&T suffered so much damage.

THAT has me concerned ---- if this was trial run for "let's see how much damage we can inflict on infrastructure nation-wide by hitting these NOCs".

No, the cops heard the same message to get away, that is why they weren't killed.
