The Republican Party / Fox News made the conscious decision to deceive people. And it worked well for them for a while, but it eventually went too far and got off their leash. Once you've sufficiently deceived people, they're unconnected to reality. There's a point at which a person's false beliefs becomes detrimental to those around them. If at some point, you don't go along with their false beliefs, you become their enemy.

The Republicans are reaping what they sowed. Deceive people too much and too often and eventually they'll become so utterly insane and so utterly unconnected to reality that their behavior becomes random and they will hurt you as much as they hurt your enemy.

This particular dumpster fire is netting him, what, tens of millions a day? Millions, certainly. That's what I call a financial incentive to keep it burning.

Trump may have started it, but it may no longer be in his control.

No there wasn't. There were two official observers. They were lied to and told the count was being suspended for the evening (not to mention they were sequestered in a roped off area dozens of feet from the tables where they couldn't effectively observe anyway). After they left, poll workers pulled out cases containing tens of thousands of ballots that had been hidden under a table and continued counting in secret for several more hours. This isn't idle speculation. It has all been testified to in sworn affidavits and is supported by video evidence.

One would think that you would get tired of credulously repeating the claims of the Trump campaign lawyers, only to have them shot down.

The "two official observers" you refer to were Republican observers who claim that they were told the count was being suspended for the evening (don't know by whom), and left when much of the staff did.

There was an official state-appointed monitor who remained, and did not see any indications of illegal vote counting, and state officials who reviewed the video said it showed standard processing of ballots.

                There was no state-appointed monitor.

And we do know who lied to the official observers, it was the election supervisor. Again, this is all supported by sworn testimony and video evidence.

"Show us the evidence!" liberals wail. Then when they're shown the evidence, they say, "Um... maybe there's some other explanation..."

The bin under the table was empty. The boxes shown are standard boxes, and "the only ballots that were scanned after the media and other observers had left were those that had already been opened in front of these observers." The workers who left were "election workers known as 'cutters' because their job was to open absentee ballot envelopes and verify ballots for eventual scanning and counting." The rest of the crew stayed because ballots can't be left unscanned overnight.

There are references to the monitor in the claim that they were asked to leave, and quotes from the monitor in the Fact Check promoted by Gabe Sterling, and excerpted in my preceding post. Relevant to the monitor ...

A state election board monitor, who asked for his name not to be used due to safety concerns, told Lead Stories on the phone on December 3, 2020, that he was present at the vote counting location beginning at 11:52 p.m., after leaving briefly at earlier in the evening. He then stayed until about 12:45 a.m., when the work that night was completed.

The deputy chief investigator for the secretary of state's office was present beginning at 12:15 a.m. November 4, he said.

The election monitor also told Lead Stories that between 8 p.m. on November 3, 2020, and 12:43 a.m. on November 4, 2020, the scanners had scanned about 10,000 ballots.

Much of the misrepresentation can be traced to observers who were insufficiently trained and a legal team with no experience with elections, people who couldn't tell you what you're seeing on the video on a bet. Too much of the rest traces back to bad actors and politicians unwilling to stand up against a president who's egging on the conspiracy theorists even as they're generating death threats.

I think the supervisor is in charge of the tabulators. The monitors are observers.

And here's all the reasons the Trump camp has not presented this 'smoking gun' to a court - because they know it's a nothingburger, and all it can do is inflame the masses. They know it doesn't show any fraud at all.

You're about the only person who thinks there was no state-appointed monitor.

                          Source: https://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta-news/georgia-opens-2-investigations-into-fultons-elections-operations/EVCBN4ZJTZELPDHMH63POL3RKQ/

Sterling said investigators had pulled video footage from that night to determine what happened. Officials have said the state’s independent monitor was there to witness counting.

The monitor was approved the Friday before Election Day, when the State Elections Board signed a negotiated consent order with Fulton requiring the county continue to improve how it runs elections or face that $50,000 fine.

Have you seen the evidence? Can you point me to it? (Not the video, that just shows normal ballot counting activity. I'm more interested in the sworn testimony.)

Inflaming the masses is the goal, since Trump wants them to send him more money.
