  • The theater of the absurd

For the record, I don't think this is typical of anyone or anything

    https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2020/11/...biden-victory/

As more votes get counted and more states get called and the possibility that Joe Biden will have won the 2020 presidential election becomes more real, some Christian conservative leaders are not handling it well.

Donald Trump’s spiritual adviser Paula White delivered a flamboyantly passionate prayer for “angels” to help Trump to win.

Related: Trump just hired televangelist Paula White to work in the White House. She’s his ‘personal pastor.’

She works herself into a trance and starts speaking in tongues, and then declares: “For angels have even been dispatched from Africa right now. Africa right now. Africa right now. From Africa right now. They’re coming here. They’re coming here. In the name of Jesus from South America. They’re coming here. They’re coming here.

She repeats that “angelic reinforcement” is coming from South America and Africa but, apparently, not Asia, Europe, Australia, or Antarctica.

This is not necessarily absurd to those of us who believe that such a thing is at least possible. It doesn't mean however that this particular woman isn't off her rocker...

Look at the source - LGBTQ Nation. Of course they're going to pick an extreme example of religious fervor and imply that all religious people are exactly the same.

Why have her family not had her taken care of? This woman is clearly mentally ill.
America - too good to let the conservatives drag it back to 1950.

Paula White is not fit to be anybody's spiritual advisor.

However, whomever wins the election WILL be God's choice, because He is ultimately in charge.

Western culture has been living under judgment for decades now. We are in the "reprobate mind" stage of Romans 1. God has "given us over" to judgment.

As our pastor is fond of saying, changing leadership in your country (and mine) is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic while the band plays "Nearer My God, To Thee".

Well, yes, but the deck chair rearranging is pointless, is the point.

That hasn't changed for all of human history - if I understand Scripture correctly it all goes to crap before Christ returns anyway.

Yes. And we are closer than we've ever been.

Did you know that your very words were prophesied by Peter in his second letter, 3:4.

They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

Are you a little surprised that God knew people like you would mock us for our belief that Christ will cone again?
