Trump has claimed COVID-19 is going away soon, since at least March, he again says, "It is going away."

Well, ah . . . it is not going away, and neither will the vaccine be available soon.

I agree. Trump should just come out and say we're all going to die and that we probably won't have a vaccine, and even if we do and it's actually safe, it won't be very effective, so we should all just crumple in a corner and give up all hope because this is never going away, ever. Terrible leadership.

Or he could say that it's going to get worse before it gets better, so it's more important than ever to follow the CDC guidelines. The vaccines may not work, but treatments have become more effective, and that will likely continue. How well we do over the next few years will depend on how well we reduce the rate of spread of the virus. (Maybe we'll get lucky with a vaccine, but we shouldn't plan to rely on luck.)

This really is the equivalent of war, and we should treat it as such, rather than just paying lip service to that effect.

Bad Orange Man should use the tried-and-true scare tactics of the Left. Instead of talking optimistically about the Wu-WHO Flu virus, he should strongly play up the proven negative consequences of lockdowns and distancing -- skipped screenings, skipped treatments, increased substance abuse, increased domestic violence, increased mental health issues, increased suicide rates, increased poverty, etc. Just keep beating that drum loudly, and fire anyone on his Pandemic Task Force that complains about it.

We might as well reelect Jimmy Carter, that was his leadership style. Everything was a "crisis" that required tax hikes and regulations. What was it he said? "America's best days are behind us"?

According to Axios, the number one topic of discussion online following the debate was Hunter's "laptop from hell". The second most discussed topic was Joe's disastrous comments about fracking and oil.
