Both of these statements logically follow the Hoax claim if either were true, and they are mirrored in the beliefs of Trump supporters, and conspiracy theories

So what are you saying Trump should have done?
Act aggressively and proactively early as other countries did instead of lying and deceiving the public about the seriousness of the pandemic. As a matter of fact he still does not take the pandemic seriously and continues to sponsor 'super spreading' events, and openly dismisses the seriousness of the pandemic.

Like Trump has been saying that te pandemic will soon pass for 8 months+

Test and quarantine people coming into the country. Contact trace all cases and inform public of hot spots. Develop a national strategy to deal with new outbreaks. Explain how serious this threat is and encourage people to protect each other. Pretty much what competent leaders did.

I'll grant you this one. After looking further into this group, they don't impress me as having proper credentials.

I'm genuinely curious what your motivation was for making that a forum rule?
I wrote the current version. The original owners didn't want a slew of responses that were just "Liar!"

A rule against calling someone out for lying isn't a rule I've ever seen on any other internet forum I've been part of.
Well, we're not other forums. We are a product of the original 3 owners and their desire to run the board a specific way. The 4 new owners and I have tweaked a few of the original rules, like the foul language rule, but generally speaking, they are, at their essence, the same.

I've tended over my years here to just assume it must be in TWeb's rules because the people that run the site intended be dishonest in their posts and wanted to be able to mod anyone who rightly called them out for it, given that's how it seems to get used.
Well, you'd be wrong. To which I am thoroughly shocked [/sarcasm]

Well, you are a leftist moron, so I'm not surprised that you are easily confused. I provided the simple facts. You are dodging Snopes' comment and you are incapable of providing a quote where Trump specifically called the virus a hoax.

Seriously, this isn't your thread, so bugger off. I posted the facts by linking to the Snopes article. It has every detail you've bitched about in it. The only bluster in this thread is you continuing to ignore the article with all of the relevant quotes, word for word.

These are the two claims that relate to calling the pandemic a hoax.

Trump did say the COVID-19 was like the common flu, and that "only 6% of all the 153,504 deaths recorded actually died from COVID-19, the rest had other serious illnesses." Yes, Trump is calling it a hoax based on his own words.

(CNN)Daily coronavirus case numbers in the US are at levels not seen since the summer, and more than a dozen states set record highs for Covid-19 hospitalizations in the past week -- yet more evidence, experts say, of a difficult fall and winter ahead.

The latest on the coronavirus pandemic
The country's seven-day average of new daily cases was above 58,300 as of Monday -- a level not seen since the first week of August, and climbing closer to the summer's peak of 67,200 on July 22.
Average daily new cases have soared 70% since September 12, when the country was at a two-month low of about 34,300.

CNN Underscored partnered with Boutique Rugs to create this content. When you make a purchase, CNN receives revenue. As cold weather is likely to drive more gatherings indoors, the case level appears too high to avoid dangerous levels of infections and hospitalizations in the coming weeks, experts have said.
"(With) the fact that we're only going to see more transmission occur with indoor air, people inside, this is going to be a rough fall," Michael Osterholm, the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, told CNN on Tuesday.

Case rates and hospitalizations are rising especially in the Midwest, Great Plains and parts of the West.
