I think her purpose is to make a statement about Trump. I think she wants people to think that it's not about Trump specifically, but to answer a problem that was brought to our attention by Trump.

There are some people who want everyone to believe it's about Biden. This is clever, as it would blunt the statement she wants to make about Trump. It just isn't born out by the facts.
    Uh, okay.

Folks had already suspected they would swap out Biden for his VP prior to this, so this is just more confirmation of that. They're not trying to "blunt the statement she wants to make about Trump." They're actually giving her the benefit of the doubt because they know attempting to use it against Trump is too much of a harebrained scheme even for her.

Sorry, but claiming 'word salad' is not a pass for failing to be able to respond to my points.

If you legitimately failed to undetrstand my post, perhaps I can help. Which word(s) are you struggling with?

Let me correct this for you.

Paranoid, conspiracy theorising conservatives had already imagined they would swap out Biden for his VP.
America - too good to let the conservatives drag it back to 1950.

Folks had already suspected that Trump wasn't playing with a full deck. It doesn't hurt to highlight that.

Sure, but that's a whole different animal. That was just a TDS partisan thing because they were saying that about him the moment he stepped into office, and he ran things fine (in spite of the congressional Dems relentlessly on the attack for four years) up to the last year when the pandemic hit, thanks to the Chinese. Everyone knew Biden was in cognitive decline even before he ran, both the left and right. Even TYT made videos about it. In fact, Julian Castro was making fun of him during the primary debates because this was common knowledge to everyone. That's why there was so much emphasis on Biden's VP pick because folks at least didn't expect him to run two terms (though I think a lot of folks were really saying they didn't expect him to even complete his first term, but they just didn't want to admit it).

It doesn't take much cognitive ability to direct your lackeys to come up with plans to reduce immigration, and to write up executive orders undoing as much as possible of what Obama did, or to pick judges from a list provided by the Federalist Society and get them confirmed when the Republicans control the Senate, or to get a tax cut bill passed when the Republicans control both houses of Congress.

Handling a crisis is a different matter, and that's where Trump's deficiency has been blatantly obvious.

As far as his response to covid, that's where we disagree. He did as good a job as anyone, far better than Biden because Biden would have federally mandated a national lockdown that would have been even more of a disaster to the country. But that's neither here nor there because it's off topic. The point was that your argument folks were suspecting Trump wasn't "playing with a full deck" is just a partisan thing, whereas in the case of Biden, he really does have cognitive decline and this wasn't just a conservative thing like you guys pretend. Many folks on the left were saying this, especially before he was nominated.

It's a partisan thing only in the sense that partisans for Trump refuse to see it.
