So you condemn a film without actually watching it? Or a book without actually reading it?

      Define pornography.

It appears that you would define much Fine Art as such. All those nudes and plump little cherubs and cupids.

Would you have let your child perform in that movie at that age?

I have seen several clips of the film, showing flagrant sexualization of underage girls. That was enough for me to not want to watch the film in its entirety, as I have kids (mostly daughters) and if found out anyone filmed anything remotely like that of my kids, I'd be getting out the wood chipper. I understand, on the far left, such perversions are normal (just look at Cali's recent laws). But to us, in the real world, people who sexually exploit children, hold auditions of scantily clad children thrusting their pelvises at the floor or at the camera, let alone those who do that and then publish such videos, belong in prison at best.

Well they are all boys. Have you seen the film? Or have you, like Gond, simply viewed what I suspect are highly selective scenes from it and condemned it in advance?

However, if we had had a daughter I would see no reason to prevent her being in such a film.

I understand that Fathia Youssouf who plays the main character of Amy is 14 years old as is Ilanah Cami-Goursolas who plays Jess. From what I have read it appears that Médina El Aidi-Azouni [Angelica] is the youngest, at 12.

So you have not seen it you are simply judging it after viewing selected scenes. Thank you.

One can condemn being a falling down drunk without first having been a falling down drunk.

One can condemn murderous assault without first having committed murderous assault.

One can condemn larceny and theft without first having been a thief.

And one can condemn child exploitation without first watching children being exploited.

Not too long ago news agencies would regularly feature segments where they would sternly condemn various forms of exploitations all the while showing clip after clip of what they were condemning. Nobody was fooled by the self-righteous condemnations knowing full well that they themselves were also engaged in the exact same behavior that they were castigating. They would run these titillating videos not to draw attention to a problem (that can be done without engaging in it yourself) but to increase rating and hence revenue.

That is exactly what the makers of Cuties and Netflix is doing here.

I haven't seen it and I haven't condemned it. But Netflix is pretty stupid for airing it in the US. American sensibilities are to protect children from exploitation, maintaining their innocence as long as possible so they can have a happy, well adjusted childhood. This film is from Europe.

However, if we had had a daughter I would see no reason to prevent her being in such a film.

Yet the "twerking" the girls perform has its origins in the USA , or so I understand.

I have no idea where twerking originated (hardly the point), but it certainly didn't originate with underage children.

You don't consider children "innocent" before they become aware of mature subjects? They don't need to ponder such things prematurely.

I thought the filmmakers said the film was about exploitation?

Back to your old snipping out pieces of posts.

Correct, I do not have to see an entire movie to be able to judge it by several scenes that show gross sexual exploitation by minors.

If you saw clips of a film showing a real rape of a woman, would you need to see the entire film to condemn it?
