You obviously included that random fact for a reason, and since it does not appear to be relevant to your question, it stands to reason you used it to mock them, hence, you view it as an insult.
Of course I mock pretentious and posturing groups like that with their prejudices, their intolerance [often displayed in physical aggression and/or violence] towards anything with which they do not agree. I also mock their ridiculous macho behaviours that include a tendency to dress up in combat fatigues and flaunt their mighty weapons [we should not ignore the Freudian link between guns and male potency] .
Yet among such groups [note it is Proud Boys not Proud Boys and Girls] there is likely to be a distinct undercurrent of homo-eroticism and homo-sociality because, as previously noted, these feature among many single sex organisations. Hence the irony that men who play to such stereotypical red-blooded hetero male behaviours are often unconsciously experiencing feelings that they would be appalled to consciously recognise.

The state, as historian Ellen Schrecker points out, has been the teeth of most anti-communist networks. But it has often been bolstered by private militias, whether they be Minutemen, Klans, squadristi, the Sturmabteilung or Brazil’s Green Shirts. That is the significance of the eruptions of militia violence in the US, the hate mobs in India, and the Green Shirt revivalists in Brazil. When these people start to see red, blood flows in the streets.[/I]
Such attitudes are nothing short of fascism towards anything that is "other", with of course the perpetual and underlying anti-Semitic trope.

I have family in California. Their greatest worry is forest fires not rampaging hordes of protesters. I imagine one can still go shopping in New York without being accosted by violent mobs smashing up shops and torching public buildings and I daresay one can enjoy a hike in some of the beautiful countryside trails to be found in Oregon without encountering gangs of violent citizens.
Umberto Eco described what he termed Ur-Fascism [or Eternal Fascism] and remarked that “It would be so much easier, for us, if there appeared on the world scene somebody saying, “I want to reopen Auschwitz, I want the Black Shirts to parade again in the Italian squares.” Life is not that simple. Ur-Fascism can come back under the most innocent of disguises. “
And that is the most worrying prospect.

Considering Socialism is a definite liberal platform that has been gaining support of the Democratic party in recent years (Sanders, AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, etc) why is it surprising that the GOP points that out?

However, I do recall an individual on another site who had an unfortunate tendency to read exactly what s/he wished to into my replies.
