And if he had not resisted being drafted he would have most likely lived as well, as some type of exhibition boxer, rallying the troops and generating good public relations, but he would not be a cheerleader or token symbol for a war that he and many others did not believe in. You should admire someone who stands up for his beliefs and conscience and suffers for such a stand.

No, that does not follow at all. A man of peace is someone who does not engage in violence or otherwise promote violence for a cause he does not believe in. You seem to be unable to appreciate courage among those who do not share your own opinion.
