The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) voted Thursday to allow pastors to marry same-sex couples in states where it is legal, the church said on its Twitter account.

Only in states where it's legal? That hardly seems to make sense, unless we're talking only about civilly-recognized ceremonies, as opposed to purely religious ones.
    Don't call it a comeback. It's a riposte.

I know a PCUSA pastor who is in the process of breaking off and forming a new denomination. I hate the idea of schism but sometimes it's necessary in these cases. (My own denomination, the American Baptists, broke off from the Southern Baptists over slavery in the 19th century).

Perhaps he should join with another denomination that meets his beliefs. Why form yet another denomination when there are still good ones out there already?

It's an organized movement of conservative PCUSA churches. Apparently they don't want to just join the PCA and I don't know much about the situation to know why.

That's why we're sharing out "Baptist" Church Building with a bunch of Lutherans --- they broke off from the main Lutheran Denomination/Synods because of things like this, and named themselves "Abiding Word Lutheran Church".

Seriously though, come on Presbyterians! Are you really going to let this sick fetish mascaraed as normalcy and love? Hopefully, it's overturned, somehow. (I'm not aware of how Protestant Churches decide doctrines and such.)

Probably won't be as General Assembly is the top of the authority pyramid. (Especially now that the Bible is gone.) The Presbyteries still have to approve the change but since the conservatives are stampeding out the door, that will just be a formality.

Disappointing, but not a surprise. PC-USA has been compromising for a long time now. In other news, they've been hemorrhaging members for a long time now.

Add my congregation to the hemorrhage we just got out of debt and can leave with a clear conscience now.
