Because I always wanted to ride one."Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." ― C.S. Lewis, God in the Dock: Essays on Theology (Making of Modern Theology) -

We need mutant cyborg clone woolly mammoths for the next stage of military development. Sure, they'd be rubbish in the desert, but they'll be an invaluable asset in an assault against Canada. Siberia. I meant Siberia.Middle-of-the-road swing voter. Feel free to sway my opinion.

This will indeed be a mammoth undertaking
I'm always still in trouble again

Those aren't mammoths but could be related to the Gomphotherium, an extinct genus of proboscid which had four tusks (two attached to the upper jaw, two to the lower). Except that Gomphotherium's tusks were relatively straight with the lower pair being relatively shovel-shaped. They also weren't some 30 to 40' tall at the shoulder.
Of course the mammoths in my gif are at least twice their actual size. But that's what you get when rogue tech gets involved

The dignified mastodon is ignored once again."When the Western world accepted Christianity, Caesar conquered; and the received text of Western theology was edited by his lawyers…. The brief Galilean vision of humility flickered throughout the ages, uncertainly…. But the deeper idolatry, of the fashioning of God in the image of the Egyptian, Persian, and Roman imperial rulers, was retained. The Church gave unto God the attributes which belonged exclusively to Caesar."
— Alfred North Whitehead
