This is an open forum area for all members for discussions on all issues of science and origins. This area will and does get volatile at times, but we ask that it be kept to a dull roar, and moderators will intervene to keep the peace if necessary. This means obvious trolling and flaming that becomes a problem will be dealt with, and you might find yourself in the doghouse.

As usual, Tweb rules apply. If you haven't read them now would be a good time.

  • Don't miss the SUPERMOON tomorrow night!

    Source: Yahoo News

You might want to step outside tomorrow night (July 12), when a bulging "supermoon" will rise in the evening sky.

But if you MISS July 12, 2014, you still have two more chances this year!

    Source: cont'd

Tomorrow's supermoon, which will be bigger and brighter than most other full moons this year, will be the first of three such moons in consecutive months. The next supermoons will occur on Aug. 10 and Sept. 9, according to NASA.

I thought I'd try a post in NatSci that wouldn't end up in a fist fight.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Thanks for the info. Now let me argue with you about how "BIG" the supermoon is going to be.
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." ― C.S. Lewis, God in the Dock: Essays on Theology (Making of Modern Theology)

      Appear, not be.

Touche. You won this argument already.

Was the Moon created on Day Four or did it merely appear then?

            Yes.
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

I will probably miss it. It will be cloudy here I expect.

Will I be able to see it here?

It is simply too late for me to drive to Calgary or Vancouver or Toronto!
