Natural Science 301 Guidelines
This is an open forum area for all members for discussions on all issues of science and origins. This area will and does get volatile at times, but we ask that it be kept to a dull roar, and moderators will intervene to keep the peace if necessary. This means obvious trolling and flaming that becomes a problem will be dealt with, and you might find yourself in the doghouse.

But for the others here, this is what came to mind this morning, from the link:A particle can be in multiple places at the same time, and can even disappear on one side of a barrier and reappear on the other side without actually traveling through it.Last edited by seer; 06-01-2014, 07:39 PM.Atheism is the cult of death, the death of hope. That reminded me of when Jesus appeared in a locked room with the disciples. Nothing more than that.Glendower: I can call spirits from the vasty deep.

This is really strange stuff. How is it possible for one particle to instantly copycat another particle even at a distance? How can something (like information) travel faster than the speed of light, travel instantly?

This particular experiment seems to be about getting 100% reliability but the teleportation stuff is not new. So called “teleportation” allows two observers in different locations to see the same system simultaneously, without any way of controlling what either sees. This does not necessarily imply that information passes between the two observers – what is actually going on is still debated.
There is a Wikipedia page on this subject but you are unlikely to understand it:

As Prof. James Binney says “Physics isn’t easy and quantum mechanics is one of the hard bits of physics.” He explains in the first 10 minutes or so of this lecture where all the weirdness comes from – the odd way that probabilities are calculated in QM. It works but nobody knows why. It’s almost transcendental.
