Not arguing with the basic thesis of competition, but there won't be much gain from mass production here. The companies that are doing this are building reusable hardware precisely because it saves so much money if you don't have to make a lot of hardware.

Yeah but mass production comes in when you scale up to having multiple rockets or planes to serve more clients/passengers. Boeing doesn't just have one passenger jet does it? And I think once the technology gets more standardized you might even see everyone using common parts which could make things even cheaper.
