  • Dangers of Denying Dementia

by the grace of God, Dad did get his papers in order shortly after mom died. And I would add that the signs of dementia are so subtle that it's easy to ignore them until too late.

Indeed, dementia is something terribly difficult for families to deal cope with. A friend of mine's father has dementia, and my own family dealt with it with both my grandfather and a step-grandfather.

Having those sorts of papers in order before the condition advances too far makes things a WHOLE lot easier on the family. Good article.
"If you believe, take the first step, it leads to Jesus Christ. If you don't believe, take the first step all the same, for you are bidden to take it. No one wants to know about your faith or unbelief, your orders are to perform the act of obedience on the spot. Then you will find yourself in the situation where faith becomes possible and where faith exists in the true sense of the word." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship
