Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
You, LORD are all I want! You’re all I need!

“You, LORD, are all I want! You are my choice, and you keep me safe. You make my life pleasant, and my future is bright. I praise you, LORD, for being my guide. Even in the darkest night, your teachings fill my mind. I will always look to you, as you stand beside me and protect me from fear.” (Psalm 16:5–8, CEV)

To our world of more and more come 10 words that will change forever the course of our lives. “YOU, LORD ARE ALL I WANT! YOU ARE MY CHOICE…” Paul tells us why we need to choose God. “But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!” (2 Corinthians 12:9, AMP)

It was not the opening 10 words that first caught my attention as I read Psalms 16 this morning, although in retrospect they are among the most important words in the entire bible. What first stopped me in my tracks and turned on the light of hope was, “…and my future is bright.” It was those 5 words the Holy Spirit used to stop me and touch me especially with Psalms 16 verses 5, 6, 7, and 8.

Do you know what turns the words of the bible such as the scriptures quoted this morning into words of the LORD? Belief. There are many reasons I read the bible but for me the number one “tippy-toe-top” reason is I am looking for the LORD to speak to me. And I believe the words of the bible are one of the ways the LORD speaks to me. It is my belief that through the Light and Life of the Holy Spirit words of scripture become the Living Words of the LORD!

This morning through Psalms 16:5-8 the LORD spoke to me (and prayerfully to you as well) and now it is my (our) turn to speak to the LORD. LORD, “You have shown me the path to life, and you make me glad by being near to me. Sitting at your right side, I will always be joyful.” (Psalm 16:11, CEV)

    Amen!

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary

Amen Gary!!! Bright shining words to us today. And I agree, Scripture is the Lord speaking to us.
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
