Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
THE voice crying in the wilderness…

When John the Baptist was questioned he said he was preparing the way for the Messiah quoting the following scripture from Isaiah. “A voice of one who cries: Prepare in the wilderness the way of the Lord [clear away the obstacles]; make straight and smooth in the desert a highway for our God!” (Isaiah 40:3, AMP)

In this morning’s Rylism James Ryle wrote, “Then I open my heart. God speaks to our heart far more clearly than He speaks to our heads. It is not knowledge that I am seeking; it is revelation. And that can only happen when the eyes of my heart are opened.” Without detracting from John’s testimony rather than the “voice of one who cries” being John the Baptist I’d like you to consider it as Jesus inviting you to clear away the “junk” from your life and open your heart up to the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The ultimate gift of the Holy Spirit is the Presence of God in our lives, in verse 4 Isaiah goes on to explain in detail how the Holy Spirit goes about making it possible for us to receive the giftedness of God’s presence. “Every valley shall be lifted and filled up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked and uneven shall be made straight and level, and the rough places a plain.” (Isaiah 40:4, AMP)

When I look at my life there have been, are, and yet to come ups and downs, twists and turns, sinkholes, and potholes so without any reservations I need the Holy Spirit! I remember one summer Patti and I while on vacation were driving through parts of the “corn belt” where there are no ups and downs, no curves, no potholes, where you could see for miles and miles and miles ahead. That is what the Holy Spirit is accomplishing in our lives so the words of verse 5 can become more than just words but the reality of God in our hearts. “And the glory (majesty and splendor) of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.” (Isaiah 40:5, AMP)

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary
