Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
    We have a Super God…

“LORD, you give light to my lamp. My God brightens the darkness around me. With your help I can attack an army. With God’s help I can jump over a wall.” (Psalm 18:28–29, NCV)

I am not superman nor are you (or superwoman) but we have a Super God! I have a confession to make. There are times as a writer when I write something then reading it back I scratch my head asking myself, “I wonder what that's all about?” I know I am not superman and I know I have a Super God but there are times when the greatest difficulty I face is my own unbelief. One bible illustration I've experienced more times then I care to remember goes like this. “But Jesus said to him, “If you are able! All things are possible for the one who believes!” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe! Help my unbelief!”” (Mark 9:23–24, LEB)

I hope you don't mind if I get personal, one question I am constantly asking myself is how honest should I get. Many years ago after giving a testimony on how God had influenced my life a man I had great respect for said to me, “Gary, you're to honest.” Since then I've struggled with how vulnerable should I allow myself to get. One of the reasons the Psalms have become such a big part of my faith is the honesty of the Psalmist. I have a great deal of respect for Peter because we've both denied Jesus and we've both been forgiven. And the testimony of Jesus' life is icing on the cake, “Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because he was tempted in every way that we are. But he did not sin!” (Hebrews 4:15, CEV)

The truth is there are times when the wall of unbelief tries its best to isolate me from my relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. If that weren't so that would make Jesus a liar because he said, “...While you are in the world, you will have to suffer. But cheer up! I have defeated the world.” (John 16:33, CEV) This morning struggling with my vulnerability those words of Jesus remind me, “With God's help I (we) can jump over the wall of unbelief!”

“God arms me with strength, and He makes my way perfect. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights.” (Psalms 18:32-33 NLT) We are not super-human’s, we are real people facing real difficulties with a Bigger-than-Life-Super-God!

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary

Amen Gary! Timely words for me again!
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
